The nearest Lush shop to me is nearly two hours away so I resorted to The Lush Times online to source this bar of soap and being me I had to order the larger 200 gm size.

In my opinion no one does soap quite like Lush, each variety of soap is unique; some contain seeds, others fruit, some have leaves interspersed, some are slightly translucent, some are dappled with stars and confetti, some contain flowers, all contain essential oil, each have their own individual aroma, some are designed to wake you up and some to relax and calm the body and soul. All are hand made, contain little or no preservatives and none of the ingredients have been tested on animals, all are vegetarian…….some are even Vegan…….how's that for being original then?
The nearest Lush shop to me is nearly two hours away so I resorted to The Lush Times online to source this bar of soap and being me I had to order the larger 200 gm size.
It took two days for this soap to arrive from the online shop and I could smell the soap before I had opened the parcel up, even the post lady commented that her mail bag smelled gorgeous……I was so pleased our usual postman was on holiday, surly at the best of times I think he would have rammed the soap in one of my more delicate orifices if he had had to go home reeking of sugar and spice and all things nice.
Anyway back to the soap, I eagerly opened the wrapping and a substantial sized bar fell into my hands. The block was oblong in shape and was a soft cream yellow colour on three sides whilst the top of the soap was layered with a deeper, golden topping which rather resembled a honeycomb crust.
As with all lush soaps this chunk had been sliced from a large handmade cake of soap so the appearance of the honeycomb will depend largely on where the bar is sliced from, mine ran the whole length of the soap but I suppose this will differ bar to bar.
My first observation was of slight disappointment as this soap is not nearly as attractive as some of the others; Sea Vegetable for instance is a translucent turquoise blue with delicate ribbons of emerald seaweed encased within and Angel Delight is a beautiful rose pink colour dappled with golden stars; Honey I Washed The Kids in comparison is rather plain and bland.
The smell though is certainly not mediocre and before I could stop myself I had ripped off all my clothes and jumped under the shower. I rubbed the soap over my now wet body and immediately I was covered in pungently smelling bubbles although, at this point, the lather wasn't as creamy or dense as I had expected. I find that if I apply the soap to a flannel or body polisher I get masses upon masses of lather. A mixture of sweet honey, creamy toffee, rich caramel and just a hint of butterscotch filled my shower cubicle, the soap lathered up really well on my flannel and under the hot water and within a few seconds I was literally covered from head to toe in a rich, thick layer of glittering, white bubbles. It's worth mentioning here that the honeycomb topping appears to be just for decorative purposes as it didn't seem to make a difference to my skin or the amount of lather produced. There was enough of the dense lather to enable me to give my legs and underarms a quick once over with hubby's Gillette Mach III…..but don't tell him that!
The smell at this point was extremely pleasant and calming as the hot water released huge puffs of fragrance and I found myself rinsing off and lathering up several times more before I could pull myself away from an incredibly pleasurable experience.
Once out of the shower and dried, my skin felt really clean, tingly and reasonably well moisturised although I did have to use a touch of body lotion on my shins as they felt quite dry - probably more due to hasty shaving than the soap though.
I was really pleased that for several hours after my shower I could still smell the honeyed sweetness of this soap, I have to say that its smell power is not quite as long lasting as some of its counterparts but I wasn't too disappointed.
The bathroom retained the smell for a good few hours after my shower and I have noticed that if I just use this soap to wash my hands the smell is just strong enough to pleasantly perfume the bathroom and I have no need to use any other form of air freshener in there.
I have used this soap daily for ten days now and whilst overall I am pleased with the effectiveness I have to say that the soap is wearing away at an alarming rate. I think this is due partly to the fact that the bar is made mainly from natural products and contains no preservatives and partly because my daughter is hooked on the perfume and can't leave it alone.
To date I haven't noticed any ill effects with continued usage of this product although I don't feel it has quite the same rich moisturising properties, even with the inclusion of Honey and Aloe, that other lush products have and as I have a dry, problematic skin that is an important aspect for me.
This soap is marketed not only for ladies but also for children and the odd, body conscious man or two, because of its delightful Honey toned aroma. The ingredients include: Honey Water, Beeswax, Sweet Orange Oil, Bergamot Oil, Aloe Vera Extract and Gardenia Extract and I have to admit that they all blend together very well but for those with skin conditions the additions of these oils may well cause problems and I would advise caution for those with delicate skin.
All in all I would say I am satisfied with this soap, I don't put it among my top 3 lush soaps - but it's still worth ripping my clothes off for.
...annoys me. Walking past Lush I remembered that their products are supposed to be natural and I decided to see if they had something suitable. I have bought Lush products before but to be honest the smell of the shop used to put me off! So I held my breath and went in, Actually the smell isn't as bad inside and I decided it would be safe to breath again!
After looking around for a bit a very nice assistant came along to help me. After explaining ... ...HISTORY
Lush first started in the 70's and were originally called Cosmetics to go, they also sold products to the Body shop. They were based in Dorset and had a mail order catalogue that was quite successful. The eighties saw them bring out their famous Bath bombs & shampoo bars but then they went bust and had to sell up. In 1994 they started up again and opened a shop in Poole Dorset, then another one in Kings road London these were so successful ...

But when i finally got over the inital shock to my nose and enetered Lush i havent looked back. Honey i Washed The Kids is my favourite product i i truely know why its one of there best sellers.

** For my first order I didn't buy soaps because I already have lot of soaps from my order at freshsoapdeli. But I received samples some of them were soaps.
** There were three samples of the same soap among them: the famous "Honey I washed the kids" a best seller. And ever since I tried the first little piece of this soap I was totally hooked on this fabulous smell… So when I went to London a few days later I bought 2 pieces.
~*~ Presentation ... ...a shop you can chose the size you want, I chose to buy 2 pieces of 100g each, so they're not too big for my hands.
When you buy on the internet you can buy pieces of 100g or pieces of 200g, since there is no price advantage whether you buy a big piece or not, I think it's better to take several pieces instead of one big one.
Anyways, this soap costs £2.25 for 100 g, it's not the cheapest soap but I think it's worth the money. If you there is no ...

Advantages: Smells Lush, keeps your skin soft. Disadvantages: As with most Lush products it's gone far too quickly.
I am very new to Lush but slowly working my way through their soaps. Recently I bought two of my favourites - the Rock Star soap & I should Coco, they came in a stack of three called The Sweety Stack, the third one being this fantastic soap Honey I washed the Kids. Lush claim this soap is one of their best sellers.

I ordered this from www.lush.com as we don't have a Lush shop locally. My soap stack cost £4.95 with £3.95 P&P on top. The soaps weigh 100g each. If I were to buy the soap individually it would cost me £2.10 for 100g or £4.20 for a 200g bar. P&P as always is £3.95 for standard service, my soap stack arrived within four days. If you require next day delivery ...

Advantages: superb aroma, great texture Disadvantages: addictive!
...there happens to be a Lush near you , then I would find it hard to believe if you told me you have never walked by and absorbed the glorious whiff floating out, even if just once. The smells are so unbelievably powerful that you cannot help but pay attention! And what exactly is providing us with this fantastic aroma? Well, it comes from all the soaps and beauty products they offer! Lush manufacture in a wide range of special soaps, creams and body ... ...special!
Now, I saw Lush is unique, but it is too true! The 'flavours' of soap they offer are so wide ranged, as am sure is clear by the name of this particular soap! 'Honey I Washed The Kids' is quite a fascinating name, especially. I grew up as a film and TV fanatic, and one lot of films I watched was the 'Honey I...' ones: 'Honey I Blew Up The Kids' and 'Honey I Shrunk The Kids'. I never thought I would say this, but it makes me feel like I can ...

Advantages: Small and Handy, good enough staying power, lovely smell Disadvantages: Maybe too small or expensive for some.
Ok so I'm a recent big fan of Lush products and having bought the best selling Honeyiwashed the kids handmade soap, i absolutely adored the fragrance but found the soap to be a bit over-rated.
So on my most recent visit to Lushi noticed a stand with tiny little tins of solid perfume, now i haven't used a solid perfume for years, i always associated to be a teenage thing you buy with your pocket money when you can't afford a proper perfume.
But anyway as i was looking i noticed this Honeyiwashed the kids one and after having a quick sniff i quickly snapped this up without a second thought.
It costs £4.94 for a small 10g tin which does seem a bit expensive but as i love this fragrance so much i didn't mind paying this.
Well if you're a fan of the soap, then you will know what i mean when i say this smells exactly like it! If you ...
Advantages: left skin quite soft, initial smell, bit of luxury Disadvantages: price, left yellow ring!
I love the LushHoneyIwashed the kidssoap, so I was very excited when I read that they were going to be doing a bath bomb that smelt the same, so off I went to Lush and brought this yellow and brown bath bomb.
It fizzed around my bath like a good bath bomb should and did smell nice but not that much like the HoneyIwashed the kidssoap.
The water went yellow (in a pleasant way!) and did soften the water but the smell didnt linger like some of Lush's bath bombs do.
When I had finished my bath I was a bit shocked by the bright yellow ring round the bath but it did come off with a bit of gentle scrubbing.
My skin was quite soft but I did not smell of honey.
I quite liked it but not as much as I had hoped, probably would buy again ...
Advantages: Smells good, lots of bubbles, one of the cheaper bubble bars Disadvantages: Doesn't look overly exciting, murky water
I know, no Lush review in a while! Well I'm making my way through my box of goodies and Ma Bar was next up to try.
The bar, originally released as a special Mother's Day limited edition, has become one of Lush's best-selling bubble bars. While they suggest giving it to your mother, mine doesn't have a bath at her house so the pleasure is all mine!
The bar is rectangular with half brown and half a creamy-white, divided down the middle and with a sugar lump pressed in. I'm not entirely sure why they did that, but I'm sweet enough thank you very much and a little tired of bits in my Lush baths, even if they are supposed to melt, so threw it out. (Admittedly not before licking it. It tasted like soap, not recommended).
The bar smells sweet like honey and toffee, pretty much the exact same scent as the HoneyIWashed the Kidssoap ...
