Where's my little white star was my 1st question!! On the website the picture of my Rock Star soap showed a pretty white star in the corner of the soap. On the packaging it says that as you wash with this soap little stars will appear. Ooh how exciting, now I can't wait to find my 1st star!!

2 days ago I ordered, amongst other items, a 100g bar of Rock Star soap. It arrived this morning in a box that was plastered in Lush named tape, so no doubting what was in there. I was rather disappointed as I ripped open the box to what seemed to be a box of shredded paper! Luckily hidden at the bottom amongst all the paper were my 2 bars of soap. Also in the box was a copy of Lush times which contains details of all available Lush products.

My soap looks too good to use but needs must, this is what I thought about it once I added water & lathered!
The soap is a lovely bright pink colour & if I'm honest this is what attracted me to the soap in the 1st place. As the 100g is cut from a much larger piece of soap its not an exact soap shape as you would find packaged in the supermarkets.
As I tore off the packaging I was met by a lovely sweet, sickly smell. Good enough to eat, believe me if it was edible I would be the 1st in line to take a bite, but as its a soap & not a sweetie I will resist!!! Lush say that if you are cutting down on your sugar intake (aren't we all?) then there's a theory that just smelling sweet things satisfies the urge to eat them. Smelling a delicious pink soap works a lot better than taking the risk of smelling real sweets because obviously you're not going to eat a bar of soap! I'm not so sure this is true as when I smell it I just want to dash out to buy a quarter of pink shrimp sweeties!
The soap lathers very well & is a great hand wash soap, I've yet to try it in the shower. The smell is very strong & an hour after washing my hands & walking the dog for 30 minutes they still smell of Rock Star. How can I describe the smell? Can you remember Parmaviolet sweets, those purple little sweets that look a bit like Fizzers? Well it has a hint of that smell. It also smells of vanilla but to be honest I can't stop thinking of 10p pick & mix's that we had as kids. It's LUSH!! (get it??)
***PRICE***
My 100g bar of soap cost £2.10. I also bought a 100g bar of I should Coco at £1.95 (review to follow). In total it cost me £8.00 as post & packaging cost me £4.05!!! A very expensive indulgence.
***VERDICT***
I think more than anything I more proud that I am no longer a Lush virgin! The Rock Star soap is very appealing in smell & colour, definately a girls soap, I don't think my other half will be using it but I'm sure that my 4 daughters will love this soap. I would definately recommend this soap & will probably buy it again as a present but I don't think with P&P being so high that I would be treating myself again.
**UPDATE**
My little bar of Rock star is long gone so I thought I should update my review. The sad thing is the bar of soap only lasted 3 days, thats being used once a day each by 4 of us, so not great value for money. Even though it's not great value for money I have to say this is still my favourite Lush soap & I have tried a few others now. The sweet smell lasts on your skin for a good few hours. I recently bought another bar of Rock Star some of which had crumbled in the packet. I placed the packet in the bathroom bin & everytime I went into the bathroom I could smell it.
So my verdict is I love this soap & I will carry on buying it. My recent Rock Star purchases have been via ebay though as I can buy it for less P & P.
The answer to the question which I know you will all want to know is NO I didn't find any stars :-(
Advantages: great aroma, attractive Disadvantages: not as cheap, as lets say, Tesco Value!
...I have walked passed the Lush shop and absorbed the delicious aromas. It never occurred to me to actually go in the shop and have a look around! I think I had been in once or twice before, but never had I had the chance to explore the wonders of the shop! That was, until this week...!
So what is Lush? Well, Lush is a store which specialises in all sorts of soaps and body products. Each one has an unusual and unique name, with its own personal scent. ... ...me a little bag of Lush products. They do sell gift packs but she had hand-picked them herself, so it did feel more personal! These were my first Lush products, so I really didn't know what to expect! When I opened up my little birthday bag, I was hit with a very powerful and delicious aroma, which I recognises distinctly from Lush. Inside, there was a massage bar and two soaps. One I had seen before but the other one I did not recognise. The other ...

Advantages: Smell, moisturises, makes bathing a more pleasurable experience Disadvantages: I will have to keep my Rock Star experiences a secret
...week, I reviewed my favourite Lush product which is the Red Rooster soap bar, and in that review I mentioned that my daughter had recently opened her little package of Rock Star soap, and it smelt and looked very appealing. Now normally I am the loyal type, and although I am working my way through the majority of their products, I tend to stick with a few trusted favourites, but this soap bar intrigued me, and over the weekend I abandoned my Rooster, ... ...me.
Lush products have replaced most well known brands in our house, as we all have quite sensitive skin to varying degrees, with my daughter having pretty nasty eczema on parts of her body, and as Lush products are made from natural ingredients, I have found that, especially with my daughter, they have made a huge difference when used on a regular basis.
Whilst doing some reading up, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Rock Star soap bar ...

Advantages: smells lovely, looks good Disadvantages: has that soap feeling on my skin, disintegrates too quickly
My love of Lush has been abandoned for a while, but luckily with Christmas just over, I was given the chance to remember how lovely Lush products are with a nice present from a friend.
The Rock Star soap grabs your attention as soon as you see it. The vibrant pink bar sat on the edge of my bath for two days before I gave in and decided to ruin it by using it. Luckily as with all Lush soaps, you buy them by weight, so you’re not going to ruin a perfectly ... ...for quite some time.
Lush say it smells very similar to the Cream Candy bath, which has strong hints of vanilla. Whilst I will agree with this and could smell lots of vanilla, I also managed to find undertones of marzipan in my rock star soap. For me that find was quite pleasurable as I hate marzipan but love the smell of it.
Rock Star lathered excellently for a soap, especially if it was lathered in the hands, rather than rubbing soap directly ...

Advantages: feels good on skin, moisturises Disadvantages: scent and soap do not last long
Lush seems to be one of those companies that most women simply love without qualification - and consequently most products the company produce are accepted, without critique, as brilliant. One of the popular products that Lush produced is the "Rock Star Soap", a pink little treat that is supposed to make you happy and make you smell like a rock candy mountain. So maybe it does not pretend to be very rock 'n roll - but the name of the soap initially ... ...product***
Unlike some other Lush soaps, this soap bar looks rather bland. It is simply pink - without much glitter or decoration to it. I am told that some pieces of the soap will have a white star on it. Lush describes the soap as softly scented and promises that it will make you smell like a creamy candy bath - a combination of vanilla fragrance and fruity sweets. The soap is produced in one huge lump - so when you visit a Lush store you will ...

Advantages: Smells gorgeous, leaves your skin feeling and smelling clean and refreshed Disadvantages: I didn't find any little stars inside mine
Lush produce a wide variety of toiletries etc which are all handmade and are made using only natural ingredients. I am slowly making my way through the bath products and have fallen in love with many along the way but one of my favourite products is the Lush Creamy Candy Bubble Bar. I was therefore pleased to learn that Lush have recently introduced a new soap called Rockstar which is fragranced using exactly the same vanilla perfume as the Creamy ... ...soap on the Lush website I couldn't wait to get my mitts of a slice so at the earliest possible opportunity I took myself off to the Southampton Store to check it out for myself.
All Lush soaps are made using large moulds and then hand cut. They are usually displayed on the shop counter in large blocks but as there is currently a Valentines Day promotions running which features this soap, when I visited my local Store it was on display with all ...

and adore this! Very sweet and girly and to me it smells of rich toffee and syrup and candy floss all rolled into one! It has a hint of orange to the smell which makes this pack a punch though it doesn't smell overly citrusy! It's simply adorable and one of my favourite smells in Lush along with RockStarSoap!
Great for sensitive skin you simply brush this onto your body on the block or transfer some to a flannel or something. It melts a slightly beige/fudge coloured liquid and away you go cleansing yourself. The soap contains oats throughout it which are meant to gently exfoliate skin. I don't find my soap does this because like I said earlier my soap is smooth apart from the oatmeal topping and depending on what piece of soap you buy you may actually not get any of that oatmeal topping so the oats I find difficult to detect in this soap ...
Advantages: Leaves your skin feeling soft & refreshed Disadvantages: Coconut pieces in the bottom of the bath.
Well after using my first Lush purchase, a RockStarsoap, in just a few days & being totally bowled over by it, the time has come to try out my other Lush purchase, I Should Coco.
I did this just over an hour ago & I'm now sat here surrounded by the most gorgeous smell of coconut. I wasn't too sure how I'd feel about this soap after enjoying my RockStarsoap so much. To be honest I didn't really want to like this soap as I felt very loyal to the RockStar.
**THE LOOK**
This soap, as with all Lush products, looks so divine, good enough to eat & this little bar of soap is no exception. I'll start at the top. This soap has a sprinkling of pink desicated coconut on the top of the bright pink soap which fades to baby pink in the middle until you reach the bottom layer which is virgin white. Coconut pieces surround this rectangular ...

a sweet, skin soothing mucilage and was used to make sugar candies for hundreds of years, and marigold, which is equally calming for your skin. This is the sweet that is good for you. Take your time." (from lush.co.uk)
I say: The most indulgent Lush experience yet!
Recommended partner: RockStarsoap - it's more the Candy Bar scent, but is close enough and goes well. Although Melting Marshmallow is one Lush bath that doesn't need any help enhancing the scent! ...
