Advantages Cute, cheap, lovely smell, great effects on skin
Disadvantages None
Now that it's christmas, I don't feel guilty buying hoards of bits from Lush, and while Christmas shopping last Thursday in Meadowhall, I picked up some of my favourite bath bombs, one of which is the Satsumo Santa, which is only available during the christmas period and is an amazingly good product - not only is it cute, but it's reasonably priced and makes my skin feel gorgeous. These bath ballistics are £2.95 each, which I think is really good value - each bath ballistic in the shop was very generous in size and mine was around the size of my palm, it was quite 'solid' feeling and chunky and I got plenty of use out of it as I laid in my bath for over an hour enjoying the relaxing smell, so in my opinion these bath ballistics are a total bargain!
The bath bomb is really cute, it's basically a 3D santa which is red with a white detailing where his face and beard are. He's wearing a belt and there's little details such as a nose and eyes (see picture). This bath bomb is only available at christmas and so I usually stock up on five or six every year as I love them so much! They also make lovely gifts due to the novelty shape and my mum loved hers last year and hasn't used it yet as she says it's too cute to melt in the bath, lol. Using this bath bomb is very easy, you simply drop it into your bath either before or after you get in. As soon as you pop it into the water it will begin bobbing around slightly and making a fizzing noise, and dissolving rapidly, and the water will soon be completely orange. The bath bomb is usually completely dissolved after 3 minutes and the smell is gorgeous!I was quite surprised with how well balanced the scent was, because considering the name of the product (satsumo referring to satsuma) I was expecting a very citrussy, perhaps overlly sweet candy orange type smell. It is definetly citrus scented but it's got a very wam undertone which is perfect for the current season - it created a lovely atmoshphere of festive smells in my bathroom and was extremely relaxing - I could have easily fallen asleep from how relaxed it made me feel! The smell lingered in my bathroom for around 4 hours and it didn't linger on my skin for very long - around half an hour at the most which didn't bother me as I use perfume and because the smell of the bath bomb faded, it didn't clash with my perfume.
The bath bomb made my skin feel really soft and smooth to the touch, I have very sensetive skin and had no issues with the bath bomb at all - no itching or irritation and it made my skin feel really nice, which is probably down to the mandarin oil that it contains - mandarin oil is a good antiseptic and it helps to purify and re-balance the skin. Not only that, but it can encourage the growth of new skin cells which is good for people with dry and damaged skin. Another brill ingredient is bergamot oil which helps fight acne, psoriasis, eczema and oily skin. Overall, I would highly reccomend this bath bomb, unless of course you are not a fan of citrussy smells. It smells lovely, has great effects on my skin (and mood! the scent is so relaxing), and it's great value. I award the satsumo santa 5/5 Ciao stars.
