This is one of Lush's solid deodorants, they are solid blocks of sodium bicarbonate and other ingredients that work not by blocking pores but by neutralising the bacteria that cause body odour. T'eo contains tea tree and citrus oils as it's particular ingredients, other can contain patchouli or lavender, one even was made from tomatoes! You use them by rubbing them under your armpit.
Before I go much further, I should mention that I have quite a bad problem with my armpits. Or they've got a problem with me at least. The only deodorants I have found to give lasting protection are the traditional roll-ons, but these tend to contain magnesium, aluminium and paraben preservatives, which have been linked with a rise in incidences of breast cancer by some studies.
I have found the application of the Lush solid deodorants to be a bit of a rough and scratchy experience, something I'd be happy to overlook in the knowledge they're safer and more environmentally friendly than most products if they worked.
But although T'eo is meant to be the one for problem pits, I have had to admit defeat and give up. I was usully starting to whiff by lunchtime when using it, and I really need a deodorant to leave me confident that I'll stay fresh to the end of the day so that I can forget about it - and not have the worry niggling at me whether work colleagues and people on the bus can smell me!
I must admit that this is the result I have had with most natural deodorants, and while they haven't worked for me, not everyone needs such a robust product! If you are using a normal roll-on or spray-on deodorant, I would recommend that you give a natural one a try - it's better for your skin and the environment.
(PS - I have now found one that works - check out my review of Aromacreme).
