'I don't have children!! In fact I haven't been near anybody under five foot two, let alone a child. I'm an ADULT for petes sakes'. The pharmicist smiled. 'I'm sorry, but it's definately lice'. I'd like to say I awoke from a very bad dream at this point, but alas no, tis a true story.
I would have liked to have stayed anonymous for this opinion, but that doesn't happen with Ciao, so I'm coming out to you all; I've had head lice!! Where the little buggers came from I do not know, but I can tell you that after using Lyclear I have sent the evil creatures back to Hell where they belong!!
I freely admit I was mortified, I remembered the taunts I had as a six year old when I had them at school, and my blood ran cold at the memory.
My head had started to itch a few days ago, and when I asked my husband to have a poke around in my hair he came back with the prognosis that I had dandruff; not a great thing to be told, but a damned site better than what turned out to be the truth of the matter.
I found one of the offending creatures after having a really good scratch, and after happily killing it, the truth dawned...I knew what I had to do.
I walked to Boots with a big furry hat planted safely on my head, and tentatively made my way to the pharmacy bit. I told her all the info I had, even describing in detail at what i had found. Just for the sake of the story I'll also tell you that I whispered the whole thing because the other woman behind the counter was a girl I went to school with, and she was one of the kids who had taunted me 22 years previously.
She seemed to announce through a megaphone that I had head lice, the cow, and after the exchanged words from the beginning of this opinion, she recommended Lyclear. All I had to do was go home, wash my hair in mild shampoo, towel dry and plaster my hair with the Lyclear Creme Rinse, which i dutifully did. You leave the stuff on for ten minutes, i admit to twenty just to be on the safe side, and then you rinse it off.
I cannot explain the sheer bliss of laying in bed and not scratching my head until it almost bled, not to mention the fact I was safe in the knowledge that 'things' were no longer crawling all over my scalp.
I know it is not a shameful thing to get Head Lice, even though I was mortified, and I also know now that they go for clean hair, little recompense, but I can honestly say that if i ever get them again, God forbid, I will be a lot calmer in the knowledge that £6.99 and a trip to Boots will sort the whole thing out.

I think I might get some of this in, I have no doubt that I will encounter lice at some stage or another now James has started school! Great op by the way, I am itching all over now!!!! Emm

Advantages: Wonderfully useful for a child who is embarrassed about having head lice and wonderfully quick for mother to apply! Disadvantages: I think the lice are becoming resistant to this product.
