The really strong cheap and nasty smell that can only be described as being the LynxSpecial effect...It repels everything...
I've seen the recent ad which says they have spent years on perfecting the smell or effect or whatever..The Lynx Trials they are called which is an apt description although maybe the words could me moved to : "The Trials of Lynx" since it is criminal.
My memories of Lynx is that when I was younger and working in the evening and fellow male workers were going out to a pub or club afterwards. As you walked toward the changing rooms and the smell hit you, much as sledgehammer hits a fly...And your the fly. It was so overpowering I don't know if the guys ever managed to get close enough to talk to anyone. I used to head home and grab a quick shower then head out and I always managed speaking to several people...
The product now has numerous different smells including: Africa, Phoenix, Arizona, Inca, Java and Apollo with more being created as you read, scary huh?
They are cheapish, at roughly £1.99 for 150ML for the Deodorant Bodyspray.
The scent is described as being masculine which in my opinion makes me want to wear something more girly...which I have in the past when I ran out of stuff and used the better half's but that's another story....
I do own a can which I got as a present at Christmas from a now ex-relative, okay maybe a distant relative then...
When you spray it, 15 CM from your cringing body, the result is not unlike spraying both the cheapest nastiest aftershave you have ever smelt along with a bucket of water poured over the sprayed area....
Sounds most alluring doesn't it and I can tell you want to try it right now but before you do please read the rest and rate it and even leave a comment for me..
Lynx is made by the Faberge group, remember Brut 33? I used to use that when I was a school...Don't think they still sell it though...prove me wrong..
It didn't really iritate my skin as such after I dried the excess off and no matter how little I spray excess vapour still exists on my skin and I prefer a dry feeling...
It did work to a degree, although more a case of masking any smell and deodorising slightly as opposed to my usual Anti-perspirant which essentially stops you sweating..yum...with a nice smell to..
Why should you buy it?
Except the fact that it's quite masculine in design with a nice Black can with silver writing and nice logos you may buy it as it's all the shop sells and you have a date, although I'd say better to go without...the price is not that great these days with special deals on the others on the market...I buy Sure Anti-Perspirant which now comes in a larger can of 250 ML for about £2.29 if you shop around...
I've kept the can I have, just incase I need to use it to kill wasps etc, and incase a snake is placed in my bathroom so I can frazzle it...Just like the James Bond film...much to the annoyance of the better half who also hates it...

I can back up the killing parasites thing, my bro once decimated a line of ants with some Apollo =) however, i'd have to disagree about the smell, so long as it's not overdone it can be really nice especially Africa and the old one Voodoo =) great op, sofie

Hmmmm, snake repellant? Will have to bear that in mind when I travel to Africa in the future.
Advantages: Good for money, Doesn't generally irritate the skin, Good design Disadvantages: Smell can be overpowerful, The Lynx Effect might not be the effect you desired
