Imagine my sheer horror and panic when I went to grab my favourite Ben Sherman body spray at Tesco last week to find the space usually reserved for it was empty. After an interminable time in which I threw a paddy, sat on the floor crying and chased a young store assistant it was discovered that there was no stocks of the body spray “out back” and that it could be several days before any arrived. Well, I felt like the little boy that Santa Claus forgot!
A panicky discussion with my therapist soon calmed me down sufficiently for me to peruse the deodorant shelves in the hope of finding an acceptable alternative to tide me over and keep me smelling sweet until I could get back to my first choice. As I stood there I decided that choosing another body spray would feel like cheating on a woman, sure Ben Sherman would never know but it just didn’t feel right to me. So, I decided on one of those new fangled deodorant stick thingies, and with the Lynx version on a special two for £3 offer that is the one I went for.
The Lynx dry touch anti-perspirant stick is fairly unremarkable to look at. The casing is fashioned from finest black plastic with a grey lid. At the base of the product is a twist mechanism which allows the deodorant to slide up and down within its plastic shaft. I have found that a firm grip on the shaft is always best while using the other hand to twist and tug at the base, a little of this action will soon have the white deodorant stick standing erect and ready to use. The Ingredients are all complex in name with far too many Z`s and Y`s used, a couple that I did recognise however are talc and castor oil. Castor Oil? The mind boggles! Finally, the whole product weighs in at 50ml compared to the 150ml of my body spray, although there is less wastage when applying the stick.
Now, I’m a chef who works in a hot kitchen and likes to work up a good sweat so smelling good is vital to me. I sometimes take two showers a day just to sloosh away any accumulated grime with a good and thorough lathering using a proprietary shower gel. At this point I’d usually spray my upper torso with body spray but instead I twist so that about two inches of the white deodorant stick stands proud from the case. Running my fingers across the stick reveals that it is of a similar texture and consistency to a bar of soap, applying it is easy with firm strokes up and down my armpit area, no discomfort is detected and my armpit area feels dry within moments of application. The smell is refreshing without being overpowering, a sort of citrus tinge with a deeper musky undercurrent. The closest thing I can compare it to is a sort of honeydew melon scent with a waft of perfume.
So, eight hours in a hot kitchen later it’s time for me to change back into civilian clothes and I can’t resist a good long sniff of my armpits, and it’s not half bad. The initial zesty smell has dissipated but a faint musky perfume smell is still present and most importantly there is not a trace of the dreaded BO, my armpits also feel dry which is no mean feat after working in a kitchen for a prolonged time.
It looks like Tesco not having my usual brand of deodorant in stock has not been nearly as big a disaster as I first feared, I am still on the first deodorant stick after two weeks of frequent use and It still does the job of keeping me smelling fresh admirably whatever I throw at it. As with all underarm products this should not be applied to broken or sore skin and should be kept well clear of those “ahem” delicate areas. I am going to continue to use the Lynx dry stick in conjunction with my usual body spray and award it four stars out of five.

...to try something else. The Lynx brand is probably one of Lever Faberge’s most successful ventures – the distinctive black design with simple, trendy graphics has been around for some years now. When I was at school, everyone was really into the Lynx range and new scents and varieties seemed to come on to the market at a relentless rate. These days, Lynx seems to have settled down a bit more and you will now find only three or four different ... ...opt for Lynx body sprays, I’ve also preferred gels or deodorant sticks. Roll-on deodorants are very ineffective – I don’t like the way the rolling ball can pick up bits off your skin and roll them back into the container. Body sprays are very often not designed to be effective anti-perspirants – if getting dressed is like making a cake, then body spray is the last piece of icing to go on. Body sprays make you smell nice all ...

...Since going back to using Lynx my wife has started a number of conversations in this way, ‘Mmmmm. You smell nice. Is that Lynx you have got on etc, etc.’ Now, I quite like it when she initiates the hanky panky, and very quickly one thing leads to another and ………….. I’ll leave the rest to your imagination. There may be children reading.
Anyway, back to Lynx. I buy the stick deodorant because it is good value ... ...Overall, I find the Lynx stick deodorant is about the best of the lot, for reliability, comfort and economy. This is, of course, all down to the ingredients which include: Alcohol Denat, Propylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Aqua, Sodium Stearate, Parfum, Cetyl Alcohol, Polyaminopropyl Biguanide, CI 42051.
As you can see form this list, only the very best ingredients are used in Lynx.
OK, it is all meaningless to me too. I just thought that I would ...

...anti-perspirant for this, and the Lynx Deodorant Stick range does not make these. Apart from that, I think this deodorant stick is great, and I would recommend it to everyone!
It makes you smell nice and lasts on your body for ages. It is a delight to buy for only £2.29 and lasts for about 2 months. This is a small sacrifice to pay for a sweet smelling life! ...

...that this is now called LYNX DRY ANTI PERSPERANT DEODERANT STICK and is in a totally differently designed and shaped pack to the one shown at the top of this page. How old is that!?~
I got fed up of roll ons and sprays that just did not work, so I decided to go for a deoderant stick instead.
I used Dove anti-persperant stick for quite a long time, but thought the fragrance was a bit too feminine, and it was quite strong and apparent.
Thats when ... ...stop sweat, these are called Lynx Dry. Included in the Lynx Dry range is a deoderant stick, which is neither a spray or a roll-on. This is great as I find sprays and roll ons just dont work.
~What does it look like?~
This, like most or all of the Lynx products, comes in the colour black plastic container which is no bigger than any roll on deoderant, just a bit wider.
It has a silver plastic cap, and has more curves than in the puicture above. ...

...to try the roll on Lynx whilst trying out different deodorants. I had previously tried the spray deodrant several times before and had been very unimpressed, but I had often found that deodorant manufacturers who make both spray on deodrant and roll on deodorant, often make the formulas quite different, for whatever reason.
I have found this product to be equally worthless as a deodorant, as it has no anti perspirant properties and no deodorant ...

Advantages: Good price, good scents Disadvantages: Phoenix is disgusting
Lynx is the market leader in deodorant, not sure why though I personally find their adverts awful. Well actually the answer is that Lynx is the best-known brand; there are very few well-known men’s deodorant brands. In fact other than Lynx I can only think of Adidas’s deodorants.
Lynx comes as a DeodorantStick, Deodorant roll-on or as a spray. I personally prefer a spray but you will use less and therefore save money by using a stick or roll-on. Oh and for the environmentally conscious Lynx sprays do not contain chemicals that damage the ozone layer…
There are various scents available of Lynxdeodorants. There is Africa, which I believe is the original Lynx. Africa has a woody and exotic scent and is very long lasting. Phoenix; a fairly recent addition to the Lynx family has a strong, powerful and spicy scent ...

our house.
If you do prefer roll-on deodorants then Lynx do produce then and are usually around £1.69 for 50 mls. Or if you prefer stickdeodorants then this is also an option from Lynx for around £1.99 for 75 mls, you may find a little less popular as most chemist don't seem to stock much of these.
Personally we both prefer sprays as sticks and roll-ons can feel too wet or sticky.
With Lynx spay cans you won't get any white marks or snow falls falling from your arm-pits as it is a body spray and not an anti-perspirant.
My husband works in a garage which can be sweaty work at times, although Lynx doesn't stop him from sweating it does reduce it somewhat and does keep him smelling nice and sweet.
I find that the fragrances are very sexy and does turn me on a bit, so come on guys have a squirt it may spice up your love life. ...

confidence centres around this fact. Bearing this in mind the results I had with Lynx Pulse basically left me with no confidence in it as a deodorant, or any Lynxdeodorant products in the future.
I?ll stick with good ol? Sure, it?s better value for money and has results that are ten times better than Lynx Pulse.
A product revamp and re-launch is all well and good, but if you don?t improve your actual product the public will find you out and sadly this is what I discovered. Lynx Pulse is exactly the same product peddled by Lynx 10 years ago with a different parfum ingredient.
REVOLTING and NOT RECOMMENDED
So I?m not completely negative, the only good feature apart from the can design was the fact that as it?s a spray it doesn?t leave any white flake marks on clothing. It?s a minor point, but I really have struggled to find anything ...
