When it comes to lipsticks, you really can't beat a good MAC lippy. The sheer range of colours and finishes on offer is second to none and somewhere in the rainbow of colours there's bound to be at least one that works for you. Sadly I may have taken this a little too far and currently have around 10 in use at the moment!
Craving is a bright (but not too birght) raspberry pink which works really well with cool toned blushes thanks to it's blue tones. MAC describe it on their website as a saturated plum, but I have to disagree here, it's really far more of a raspberry pink and the plum description is a little misleading! Although the colour looks pretty full on, it's really versatile and easily buildable - you can just press it on for sheer colour, or apply more strongly for a more dramatic look. I think this is a great colour for olive toned brunettes (personally I'm a MAC shade NW20-25 and I love this on me) but would clash horribly with redhead and depending on your skintone may work well for blondes.
Craving is an Amplified Cream finish and has a rich, opaque colour and a fantastic creamy texture. Although the cream finishes feel thick and creamy, it is nice and light on the lips and has a good amount of staying power, lasting about 2 hours. It also contains wheat germ and olive extract to aid moistureretention which works effectively as I don't feel that this dries out my lips as some MAC lipsticks do.
The packaging is iconic - a black bullet shaped tube with silver edging. I love that unlike lots of other lipstick cases, these are really durable and don't get scratched when carrying around in your handbag so look just as good when you come to the end of the lipstick as they did at the start. Each lipstick contains 3g of product.
At £12, this isn't the cheapest lipstick out there, but I think it represents good value for money - it feels good on the lips, the shade is fantastic, and the colour is easily buildable, making this a really versatile lipstick suitable for everyday wear or a night out.
Back to MAC
MAC's Back to MAC program is also a great bonus for me - for every 6 empty MAC items you return to the store, you will get a free lipstick! You can't say fairer than that! My only worry at the moment is that I've heard rumours that MAC's recycling companyin the UK have gone bust and they are gradually trying to withdraw the B2M programme so if you have any empties lying around get them in now!
