~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ About the Lipgloss ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The colour I use and am reviewing is Prrr, which is a baby pink type colour. Prrr is a lipgloss, but is actually called Lipglass by MAC due to its glass like shine finish on your lips. It is a unique lip gloss available in a wide variety of colours ranging from bright reds to nudes. It is designed to be worn on its own, over lip pencil or lipstick. It's pigmented, very shiny and can impart subtle or dramatic colour. It contains Jojoba Oil which helps soften and condition the lips, whilst also giving you a lovely long lasting colour, it also helps to prevent your skin loosing precious water.
MAC Lipglass has won 'Best Lipgloss' in the most recent In Style Beauty Awards.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Why I purchased this lipgloss ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok, I'm going to sound really sad and shallow now but the reason I purchased this lipgloss is because Paris Hilton uses it! I know, I know, a very sad thing for me to do! Her lips always look so lovely and the colour she wears suits her, and I have very similar colouring to her, wear similar clothes and have the same hair so I knew this would suit me as it looks fantastic on her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~ Use & Effects ~~~~~~~~~~~~
My lips are quite large but are not outlined very well, and I have a faded white lipline, which looks awful. Lipsticks and lip pencil doesn't really suit my facial colourings, they tend to look too harsh. My lips are naturally quite pink in colour, so just emphasising that is the best thing I can do too my lips. The lipgloss isn't too dark, it just gives my lips a nice even colour and gives them dimension.
Prrr is a pale shimmery pink colour which is great for a natural look or when you have more dramatic eye make up on. It is the perfect baby pink with shimmer. A real girlie colour, but even if you're not a girlie girl, it can suit you. It also smells gorgeous, it has a hint of vanilla without being overpowering, it lasts good enough to eat. It is perfect for a day or night look, it doesn't look too dressed up in the day and too dressed down at night. The colour and the shimmer are just right to be suited for both occasions.
The lipgloss is packaged in lovely smart looking box with MAC written subtly across it. The box looks professional and worth the money, you definately wouldn't be ashamed to purchase it and carry it around. The lipgloss comes in a convenient bottle with a sponge tip applicator that provides a quick, smooth, even application.
Throughout uses, the applicator remains clean, it doesn't clog up at all, saving you the hassle of trying to clean it without ruining it. You don't need to apply too much, as a little goes a long way, it is a lovely thick lipgloss and isn't water based so you can just apply it to your bottom or top lip and then put your lips together to spread it. When you've applied it to your lips, it instantly looks smooth, shiney with a lovely finish. You can really feel it moisturising your lips but I do find it a little sticky and tacky. If you go out and it's windy, your hair will blow right into your lips and get stuck - very annoying! To overcome the stickyness, if you apply a lip balm like vaseline underneath.
If you have very dry and chapped lips, I find you can't put this on as it sticks to the dry bits and highlights them even more, so I tend to apply something like Vaseline and let that relieve my lips of the dry bits then apply the lipgloss. The colour and shine lasts for several hours, but it won't be as shiney and intense by this time. If you drink or eat, the lipgloss does wear off a lot quicker than if you didn't. When the lipgloss has been on for several hours, I have noticed that it can start to feel a little grainy, so I wipe it off and reapply. Even when the lipgloss is no longer on your lips - that you can see your lips feel lovely and moisturisered and smooth still. The lipgloss feels soft and smooth on your lips, it doesn't sting or irritate, even if you do put it on sore or chapped lips. I have found I am allergic to so many lipglosses and other lip products, my lips just balloon up and put Angelina Jolie's to shame but luckily this lipgloss has never done anything like that to my lips and I have had no problems with it. The lipgloss is easy to remove at the end of the day, it can be removed with facial wipes, water or cleanser, you can remove it with a tissue but I do find you are still left with some residue.
For a 4.8g tube, you will be looking to pay £10.50. It can be purchased directly from MAC's website and most department stores, I purchased mine from Selfridges. Although this is quite expensive for a lipgloss, I think it is worth it and it does last a long time. I have had mine for over 6 months now, use it several times daily and I haven't even got through half of the tube yet, so it really does last. Throughout this time, the lipgloss doesn't start to go funny, it remains in the same state as it was when it was purchased.
~~~~~~~~~~~ Conclusion ~~~~~~~~~~~
I would recommend this lipgloss, it is available in a huge variety of colour so there will be a colour to suit everyone. It has strong lasting power and moisturisers your lips while making them look luscious and although it is expensive, it lasts such a long time that it is worth it. It does have a few disadvantages, but that can be expected with majority of lipglosses and the problems are easily overcome.
Advantages: Huge range of colours, perfect glossiness, I love it! Disadvantages: Well, £10.50 isn't what I'd call CHEAP.
I heard of MAC a long time ago. The first time I got near their products was in Carnaby Street, in one of their few little stores. Visiting MAC is a rare occasion for me because they really don't sell in many places, and I've found in conversations with friends that they're not very well known. However, I'm a bit of a makeup 'collector' and had read through many places of their lipglass. When first seeing MAC products, they never really appealed ... ...research, I visited a little MAC store in Cardiff. At first it was hard to find the lipglass in the store. I had to ask an assistant who directed me to a very small rack of lipglass. After scanning the different colours, I picked one called 'Zazoom'. Yes, partly because it began with 'Zaz', which is a nickname popular amongst family for me. The other reason was that it was pink and had glitter in, which is always a good thing! However, picking your ...

MAC Lipglass, soft and squeezable plastic tube with screwcap, £8 per tube
Yes it is perhaps a tad expensive, but this product should last a very very long time unless you overindulge slightly!
I bought MAC lipglass for the first time when I was about 16 years old. My reason for buying it was only due to the fact that my sister-in-law was a major fan of the makeup brand and recommended it to me - the best recommendation I have ever had! I lost it ... ...could. The problem with buying MAC products in the UK is that not many places sell them. There is of course a website, but as far as I know, they don't offer online purchasing yet. In Ireland, the only place I've found it is in Brown and Thomas department stores in Dublin - but keep looking!
As a lipglass, it truly is amazing. As I've mentioned in the title, it tends to be a little on the sticky, gloopy side, but this is what makes it so long-lasting. ...

Advantages: It leaves you with scrummy kissable lips! Disadvantages: Application can have you applying a bit too much
...then told me it was Mac Lip glass and she had got it in Debenhams, in town (Belfast). Well, l knew there and then l was on a mission to purchase some, next time l got into town!
Needless to say that l bought a tube that weekend!! The colour l chose was Spite – the same as Julies – it was fab! The tube was just under a tenner – pricey for some but l was previously buying Clinque gloss and the difference really wasn’t that incredible.
So l ran to ... ...your colour with an inconspicuous Mac logo, and simple screw top black top, which the sponge applicator is attached too.
Application
I did find that you can perhaps take too much of the gloss on the applicator so make sure you clean the excess before applying to your lips. It slides on like a good gloss should, and l would recommend 2 thin layers of application to get the perfect glossy, kissable pout.

Advantages: long lasting, great taste Disadvantages: sticks to hair, a bit pricey
MAC Lipglass...who knew something so big would take over,but yet be so compact? Everything about the gloss screams chic! The slick design makes you a proud owner of the gloss, whilst the smooth use of the lid oozes quality, making you just want to carry it around with you!
From the inside, the applicator is just the right size to discretely fit into your hands for easy application. The gloss itself is made up of quite a thick formula, which helps ... ...Another positive point about the MAC range is the intense flavours/scents they come in. Personally, I prefer 'Lust' as the creamy vanilla is a perfect treat. Each dip into the bottle provides just the right amount of gloss for the whole application due to the thickness.
Personally, I have never been a fan of using lip pencils or lipsticks, so finding the right gloss was somewhat a battle. However I dont have this problem with Lipglass, as the colour ...

...Now, I stumbled across MAC lipglass unexpectedley last summer. I wasn't even looking for a lippy, I had resigned myself to the fact that it was a worthless cause. I was instead trying to make my way out of selfridges in London after buying a birthday gift for my mum, I stopped to have a quick glimpse at the MAC haircare products and before you know it I was kidnapped by a MAC makeup assistant. I am useless with these people and also a sucker for ... ...it...I knew that just maybe MAC might have the answer to my now abandoned hunt for a good lippy....and indeed they did!
There it stood amongst the tray of other equally as fantastic products. MAC lipglass. A small inoffencive tube containing a concotion of clear gunk. I reached out and removed some from its easy squeeze tube and put the smallest amount on to the tip of my finger. It spread beautifully over my lips and fixed itself perfectley as ...

Advantages: Its very glossy Disadvantages: nothing
I fell in love when I bought the 14ml Clinique colour surge, I usually wear Maclip-gloss and chanel lipsticks today however I fancied a change, my friend works at the Clinique counter at my boots store, so I asked her what should would recommend just for casual use.
She recommended me this wonderful lip tube and this colour because I have blonde hair.
When I put it on my lips I fell in love with it instantly, it seriously looks more like lipstick with a high gloss shine over it than regular lip gloss.
The name "Impossibly Glossy" I'm sorry, but how true!
If you love glossy lipglossses then this is defiantly the one for you, especially if you're like me and wears lipsticks more then lip glosses because of the matte feel to it. ...
Advantages: wide colour range and finishes, vibrant colour, highly pigmented, smooth and non-drying Disadvantages: none
. The colours vary from sheer to very intense, depending on what finish you go for. The amplified cream's always give a beautiful vibrant colour effect and the sheer ones are still buildable. The lustre's are also very nice and don't appear too shimmery or glittery at all as some might think. They also go nicely with the lip glosses that MAC sells, or any other lip gloss really. I always keep a tube of the clear lip gloss handy as it adds a beautiful shine to the lipstick to give it some variation, or I even like to layer on a complimenting or different shade of lipglass to give it more depth and dimension.
I highly recommend these lipsticks as they are the most vibrant kinds on the market, if that is what you require. They don't feel sticky, drying or clumpy and they stay nice for hours and never bleed. The colour effects you can achieve ...

Advantages: cheap yet good quality, large range of products. Disadvantages: Is sometimes looked on as being a cheap and therefor rubbish brand of make up.
up bag like me!!!
The contents of my make up bag are my babies. My irreplaceable Chanel foundation, my collection of MAC products. All up the expensive but good quality end of the market. As you can imagine my love affair with make up can end up getting quite expensive. However, in the past if I had have been out shopping on my lunch break, I would much sooner have spent my money on a new MAClip-gloss than my lunch!
I first discovered Rimmel products when I was a young teenager keen to experiment with make up. I would save my pocket money and head to town on a weekend to buy the new Heather shimmer lipstick or any other catchy named shade! I soon grew out of Rimmel when snobbery began to surround the make up market. I moved on to all the new trendy brands like clinique and MAC. Not so long ago our paths crossed again. I was in ...
