Advantages: wide screen and very good customer service plus two years' warranty Disadvantages: I have experienced systme crash for twice with this laptop
...I have been using this laptop for nearly two years, overall, it was very good value and I like the wide screen and keyboard, it's very easy to use and the look on this laptop is quite good; and there's quiet mode that helps to reduce noise from the laptop. However, I experienced twice of system crashes with this laptop, when I turned it on, it couldn't process to the windows xp. Fortunately, maxdata offers two years' warranty on this laptop, it is much longer than the warranty offered by other branded laptops, after I call the technical support team, my laptop was collected, repaired and then returned without charging me nothing, I got back my laptop in just 1-2 weeks. I am very satisfied with the customer service of maxdata....

Advantages: speed ( Atlon is still the best chip ) Disadvantages: lasts seconds without a heat sink
...I recently received a 1GhzAthlon system and without realising that the heat sink had fallen of the processor started the system up , the processor failed virtually immediately. No problem i hear you cry just make sure you have a heat sink always on the processor. However what if in moving your system it falls of without you realising it, in the past processors used to be able to gon on for weeks even months without failing not so the Athlon one quick zap of power and it dies. I have now replaced the procesor and have replaced the heat sink but this makes me very nervous about future reliability when a processor can so easily be disabled in such a quick time....

...It's an amd, it says its a 64 bit athlon 3000+ but what does this mean in plain english!
Well first of all it is 64-bit which basically means that it is compatible with 64-bit operating systems and programs which is not necessary at the moment but in the future it will be.
Secondly, the name suggests the clock speed is 3.0GHz but it is actually clocked at 1.8GHz. The reason it is called a 3000+ is because that is the relative performance output, due to its architecture it is a lot more efficient than say an athlon xp 1.8GHz, hence the name.
I have had one of these since January, i have had no problems with it at all, it is a lot cooler than the old athlons, mainly due to the new transistor size being 90nm rather than the old 130nm.
All in all a very good, relatively cheap INVESTMENT into a socket 939 system that will leave you...
