I have had an MBNA Platinum Card for about 18 months and have to say that on the rare occasion that I have had any queries their customer service have been very helpful. As Owenski found, they do charge an £18 late payment fee - this has been charged to me three times and every time this has been due to my bank being late. Every time I have called them and they have taken the charge off my account straight away. The APR is very competitive (16%) and the credit limit is easy to set if you are after a larger credit limit. Although they do tend to increase it by £1500 every six months unless you ask them not too... All in all I have to say this is a very good card.
Advantages: You earn holiday points which can be exchanged when booking a holiday and also get discount with Thomas Cook Disadvantages: The special rate of 2.9% is only for 6 months
