Advantages: Good speedy service Disadvantages: Wait until you try and repay early
...Did you know that MBNA Corporation is the world’s largest independent credit card lender, with managed loans of US $95.4 billion. The arm of the company that operates in the UK has recently changed its name to MBNA Europe Bank, but the levels of customer service and freephone telephone numbers remain the same.
MBNA works on the philosophy of getting the right customers and keeping them, and base it on their provision of superior customer service. ... ...APR's. MBNA also provides unsecured loans and insurance products, and therefore as it was the company that I had my first credit card with, it seemed to me only common sense that they were the first company I approached when I was seeking a loan to meet a few unexpected expenses a couple of years ago.
WHAT DOES THE LOAN-ARM OFFER?
o Unsecured loans ranging from £1,000 to £25,000 (higher amounts will be considered on an individual basis)
o Repayment ...

...20 I took out an MBNA card as I saw the interest rates were lower, and thought this would save me some cash. Might even get it paid off? Dream on….
MBNA is an ace at luring. They offer sexy low rates of interest, and for the morbidly poor, even boast a free-phone customer services number. There are not many companies you could say that about. Even if you’re abroad you can call the international operator and ask them to reverse the charges. They ... ...is summary of WHAT MAKES MBNA REASONABLE IN MY BOOK:
“A+” for customer service. They don’t take too long to answer the phone, and by jiminy you’re not paying anyway.
"A" for Internet access. They provide an uncluttered, matter-of-fact website, which lets monitor your accounts from home. Never had any problems with it, except if you register a new card (say one got nicked), you need to have 101 details on hand to register it.
“A” for statements. ...

Solid Review ofMBNA International Bankby

Advantages: Reliable company Disadvantages: Delivery of cards
I have an MBNA credit card, indeed I have had this for some four years. It is one of those charity ones, so no points for me, but money to Charity when I spend.
The interest rate is fairly competitive and the service is good, indeed no mistakes at all. There is no annual fee, which is a huge bonus.
I only have one gripe, cards are delivered via courier in the week, and no they cannot send them to work, this has meant a trip to the post office to ...

...stonewalled. They must have special MBNA courses in that - how to be utterley and completely unhelpful - whatever common sense dictates. I have dealt with many banks and these definitely win the award for worst-ever. The rate on their credit card isn't even good when the introductory period is over. This is one I won't be staying with ...

MBNA is the worst or nearly the worst credit card company. I made a single purchase and waited for the card statement to come in - it didn't and I forgot about the single purchase I had made. For three months I did not receive any statement. In the fourth month MBNA billed me for three late payments at £25.00 a month. My protestations were to no avail and the customer service was simply awful. After speaking to a supervisor I finally managed to get one month's late payment removed but still had to pay the other two. My advice to anyone taking out a credit card with MBNA is DON'T!
Advantages: They are very quick with everything Disadvantages: where would you like me to start
...card handy. She then started asking him all kinds of irrelevant, personal questions, which he cut short because he was waiting to go out, and as far as he was concerned, the initial problem had been sorted. I overheard the phone call, and he was having great difficulty understanding, and making himself understood.
Because he doesn't use his bank account very much, he never knows where the cheque book is, so we agreed that I would send a cheque on his behalf, and the money would be transferred to my account. I wrote a cheque out and I put his account number, name and address on the back, with an accompanying note explaining who it was for, and this went in the post that day, to the address provided by the lady on the phone.
1 hour later, and again 2 hours after that, I received 2 automated phone calls for him from MBNA. I obviously...

Advantages: quick, cheap, helpful, easy to complete, Disadvantages: not obvious
...I recently found myself requiring a loan over £10k to consolidate some debts and generally make my finances neater. I applied online to several establishments and also spent plenty of time on the phone being rejected by several others. I found my solution a lot closer than I thought I would, from my credit card company. The MBNA had always been very helpful before and this time was no different. The applacation time was very quick, this decision was almost instant and when they gave me the apr rate it was as good as the best advertised on the net. If you want a cheap loan with little hassle contact the MBNA....

Advantages: Freephone telephone number Disadvantages: The leaflets don't tell the whole truth
...About a year or so ago, I decided to take out an MBNA credit card as I was bombarded on a weekly basis with leaflets telling me about the products the company were offering. 0% interest on balance transfers, cash back on purchases etc etc. Brilliant! So, in due course, my card arrived and all was ok. Then, last week, I recieved another mailing from them telling me that after "carefull" credit checks (which I didn't ask them to do) I was eligible for a £8000 ;oan. Once again, the literature looked promising.....good low interest rates etc etc. So, after much consideration, I decided to call them and get the green light on the "pre-approved" loan. I thought that it may be a good idea to again consolidate all my debts and have one easy monthly payment. After about 45 minutes of questioning by their high grilling staff, I was told...
