Hi all MCN readers MCN, Motorcycle news, its a weekly newspaper about Motorbikes & the Motorcycling industry, it brings you the low down on products, motorcycles, it also has a bike-mart which is cram packed full of your bikes for sale. The newspaper brings you up to date with the racing and racing fixtures it recently had a issue devoted to Joey Dunlop who was tragically killed when his bike hit a tree, it showed the funeral a the week after and keeps bringing his name up most weeks. The newspaper is Ģ1.30 and personally I think they are selling themselves short at that price.
Advantages: good looks and performance/cornering on twisty roads. Disadvantages: battery/starting probs and not the best for motorway work.
i'd gone back to biking 3 years ago after a 10 year absence, what bike to get i wondered nothing to big,a 1989 zxr400h caught my eye in the MCN.
after a hour drive to look at it ,a quick ride and i was hooked, money was exchanged and i road it back home,a chicken in the saddle of a bike that could handle corners with ease, accelerate to upset many a new car driver,an old G reg leaving me behind! they must think to themselves.
3 years on and no real problems except the battery, starts first time, go for a blat for half an hour, stop for a stretch of the legs(being 6ft 2 doesn't help)and the thing doesn't want to start, impossible to bump start!
anyway the zxr400 is a fantastic bike and seems to be looked down on from other larger bike owners, why i don't know its still a proper bike, with big bike looks and near the same performance ...

Advantages: Cheap, easy to work on. Disadvantages: None, it does exactly what it says on the tin.
to adjust the carburation when de-restricting.
If the job is done professionally there will be a new de-restricted exhaust on the bike or a weld mark on the expansion chamber where it was cut open to remove the restrictor once knocked out.
Taker care of the Frame, it’s steel and will rust.
If you fall off try the breakers in the back of MCN (motorcycle news) they helped me out so much.
The premium rate ones are good, you phone them at a cost of about Ģ2 and later on in the day a load of breakers phone you with what you want, it does save time, energy and ultimately money.
Have fun! ...

Advantages: Cheap, cheerful, simple Disadvantages: Common, used by couriers
Being another of the born-again biker breed I got my CB500S a few months ago after reading rave reviews on MCN's website. I've not been disappointed.
OK it's not a superbike but it doesn't hurt your wallet like one either. Running costs are low with 50mpg and reasonable insurance; mine hasn't needed new rubber so far. With 59bhp for the half-faired S version and a top wack of 120+ it won't worry the Ninjas or Blades of the world but the twin cylinder lump - after an initial flat spot below 3,000 revs- is as sweet as a nut and sounds the business too when you get near the redline of 10,500 revs. Most of the wind blast is kept at bay by the fairing (which incidentally has an annoying little plastic tray thing inset for earplugs, the top of which always blows open at 40mph and above), the seating is generous and an upright position saves ...
