I used to work as a beauty therapist and have taken many training courses in a wide variety of skincare ranges but i have never found a product that does, for my skin, what this product does! I haven't used this product for over a year now and i can really tell. Normally i have combination skin and suffer regularly from outbreaks of spots and blackheads. After using this product for just 2 weeks i noticed a marked improvement in my skins' texture, appearance and complexion.

Consistency:
This light, water based lotion uses a Glycolic acid compound to provide daily skin renewal for amazingly healthy skin! This is one of the only products i have worked with that actually reverses the signs of aging and sun damage by continuously renewing (glycolic acid) the skins surface.

How it works:
The best way for me to describe how this works is to tell you a little bit about how the skin is structured. Skin has 3 main layers to it; the subcutaneous layer (the deepest), the dermis and the epidermis. The epidermis has 5 layers in itself, the top layer or the skin you can feel and see is called the stratum corneum. When the stratum corneum is at its best it is 15 layers thick, the skin looks hydrated, fresh and young, however, as we age and our skin gets more dull looking, dehydrated and sometimes waxy looking and this is because we are not efficiently exfoliating these layers away and so the stratum corneum builds up to about 75 layers thick! The glycolic acid in this product works to dissolve the "glue" that holds these layers in place. By using MD Formulations Continuous Renewal Serum, the glycolic acid will allow the stratum corneum to shed these layers and reveal young, fresh skin. This product works best on combination or oily skin as the lotion is very light and doesn't feel like you have a heavy cream on which can sometimes make you feel worse. There is also a sensitive skin formula for sensitive skins that does exactly the same but a slower rate as so to not irritate the skin.

Is it worth the money?:
I strongly recommend this product to anyone! I have recently re-ordered this product and can't wait for it to arrive. My skin looks smoother, clearer and a rarely get outbreaks when i use this product....plus i have significantly reduced blackheads due to the continuous exfoliating process. It is still recommended that you use your usual exfoliant 2-3 times a week.

Before you all rush out and buy it let me tell you where to buy and how much you can expect to pay for it. There are many websites you can use to order this product but i tend to use salonskincare.co.uk as i find it is cheaper than most. You can expect to pay around £39 for a 60ml bottle normally but it is £35.10 on salonskincare.co.uk. This bottle will last you for around 3-4 months as you only need 3 drops each time you use it. You can also buy it from selected salons.

Advice for first time users:
I just want to give you a little bit of advice if you are considering using this for the fist time. You need to "prep" your skin before you start to use this day and night. The way to do that is just to use this product ONCE a day for the first week. I used to recommend my customers use the glycolic cleanser in the morning and the renewal serum in the evening to really get your skin used to it. You put 3 drops into the palm of your hand, pat your hands together and gently press them onto your face taking care to avoid the eyes. You may feel a little tingling sensation, don't worry it just means it is working.

Reactions:
It is rare that a person suffers with a reaction to glycolic acid as our bodies do contain a small amount anyway. If you find that your skin looks very red or you have severe tingling or burning sensations you can do one of two things. The first thing i would recommend is to make sure that you are only using 3 drops and no more (it is tempting to use more but 3 drops is enough..trust me!) and to drop down to using it just once a day, if after a week you are still experiencing these effects you can switch to the sensitive formula.
