Don't even go there! My biggest complaint is with the installation service sold by MFI - by their designated 'professional' fitters Tuckers of Bristol. At the point of sale we were deceived; we... more

Advantages Advantages new kitchen; Relatively cheap; Good quality; Excellent planning service

Disadvantages Disadvantages Flooring and tiling only available on an ad hoc basis

A year ago we upped sticks and moved about a mile and a half down the road into a detached house. This detached house was a bargain having been previously occupied by an elderly gentleman who was still quite happy living in the 1960s. Needless to say, the kitchen hadn’t quite moved in to the 21st century. Actually a more accurate description would be that it hadn’t quite moved in to the 1970s so a new kitchen was top of our “to do” lists. We had made a bit of money on our previous house but due to the new house also needing a complete rewire and other vital work, the budget for the kitchen ... more

Advantages Advantages Value for money, good choice of designs

Disadvantages Disadvantages Set aside a few months if fitting a kitchen yourself!

This review deals with the delivery and installation of Hygena kitchen units (Hudson design) purchased from the MFI showroom in Swindon. For details of reasons for choosing this kitchen, my experience of buying from the Swindon showroom and costs, please refer to my previous review, The MFI Kitchen Experience. The price quoted at the end of this review included a sink, tap and glass cooker extractor hood, as well as the cupboard units. This is by necessity a lengthy review and I apologise for this, but hope that it will be of some help to anyone considering buying a flat-pack kitchen from MFI ... more

This is quite a saga so bear with me on this one, but I feel that other people should be warned!........................ STAGE ONE +++++++++ We went to our local MFI in Barnstaple on 27 December to order a kitchen. We wanted to take advantage of the sale which ended on 12 January (however since this date, the same sale has been ongoing, Easter, Spring etc!!!). We were not aware that we needed to make an appointment for the design, however they were able to squeeze us in, but the bloke at first said, "sorry, busy" and walked off! I chased after him saying" well, can I make an appointment then ... more

Advantages Advantages Good Price - Well made

Disadvantages Disadvantages Still waiting for stuff to arrive.

I recently decided to have my kitchen refitted. I had heard good things about MFI so i decided to pop into the showroom and check out some of the kitchens they had in store. We eventually decided to go with MFI as there was a kitchen in the Stockholm range that we really liked. We arranged an appointment with one of their in-store kictchen designers and decided that we were happy with what we saw and ordered the kitchen. The kitchen was paid for and ordered in January 2004. The kitchen was due to be fitted late March 2004. So far so good. The kitchen was delivered a week before fitting but ... more

    Advantages Advantages Cheap!

Disadvantages Disadvantages A little bit stressful

Having read the reviews on this site, I was wary of buying my kitchen from MFI but I felt I was armed with all of the facts and as the kitchen came in at 1k less than the nearest competitor (Homebase) I was quite keen to use them. My other concern was all of the problems I have read about when purchasing a flat packed kitchen from one company and having it installed by someone else - this seems to remove all responsibility from the vendor of the kitchen as they simply blame the installers for any problems. I went to the MFI in Lewisham, and spent two hours designing my kitchen. I was very ... more
