We had decided as two Librans that this time we would look around a lot more rather than impulsive buying for a kitchen that we are looking to live with for at least ten years (she says!!!!). We normally - as Librans apparently either dordle for weeks until it's too late to do anything else or we jump straight in and buy the first thing we see.
A Kitchen - Very important to buy the right colour, style and design so we thought about what we wanted and went to talk to the experts.
Our Local MFI in Chester was so busy on Bank Holiday Sunday that afer standing around for a few minutes a gentleman approached us and asked if we would like to make an appointment for the Monday so that we weren't left hanging around to long (especially with a three year old - not very amusing for her!).
So back we went on the Monday for 11am and saw a really helpful guy that had us sitting down in front of a very impressive CAD system designing before your eyes. He spent a total of 1 and a half hours with us discussing our brief and requirements and then transforming them onto the Computer to see a design in plan and elevation formats. Within that time he was able to change all that we wanted to change on the layout as well as price the whole package too. For each piece of item that was not a kitchen cabinet i.e Cooker, Sink etc he took us around the displays to show us the different styles of sinks rather than show us them in a brochure. He gave really good advise and yet no pressure was put on us after the time to make a decision.
What I did like was the approach of "If you need more time to think this quote is valid for 30 days" and none of this "the price can only be held for today and then it goes up by 30%". He was very laid back, gave us the colour photos and design and was quite happy to have spent the time with us discussing and advising us on the layout and range of units available.
The gentleman gave us lots of advise on the best way to spend our money on the special packages that they had available at hte time i.e Fridge/Freezer for £429 with £250 discount given on it if we spent more than £500 on units etc.
We left after giving them the order and they gave us a delivery date within 5 weeks and ........... watch this space........... I will return with my opinion on the delivery and contents of the packages.

Advantages: Wide selection, hygine checked, charity aid, low prices, great name clothes and friendly people. As well as the thrill of the chase! Disadvantages: As with all things, there are some good and some bad charity shops. Don't be put off by one bad one, as the majourity are excellent.
Advantages: stores all over the country, always a sale on, not too pushy, payment and delivery Disadvantages: those annoying adverts, having to pay extra for everything
