I had two of these - the second one for two years - the only thing that went wrong with it was one of the fuel injectors packed up, otherwise it was an amazingly reliable car (MG Maestro 2.0i).
It was very fast in a a straight line, but the brakes could not quite match the engine, and it did like to lean in corners.
The sports seats were excellent, very grippy, but the dashboard (standard maestro) was obviously designed by somebody who was never actually going to drive one of these cars.
The only downsides to this car were its unfashionable image, and the fact that on the ones I owned the only parts of them that didn't have rust were the windows!
I really liked these cars, it's good to seeRover doing such a good job with MG these days.

Many years ago I remember being driven at 100mph down the Euston Road in one of these at 5.00am by a mad minicab driver with a spiders web tattoed on his neck and most of his face!
