Modern Organic Products (MOP) are a hair and body care range that was launched in 1998 use certified organic and food-derived ingredients which work to cleanse and moisturise the hair in a gentle and healthy way. We now don't have to compromise effective products with natural ingredients, and vice versa.
The ingredients list on each of the bottles reads like a recipe! Those ingredients in the list that are certified organic are marked with an asterisk and all of the fragrances are created by the natural ingredients, not artificial additions. MOP never test on animals and every product is suitable for pregnant women. Some products such as those in the Pear range are particularly good for children. The Glisten range is aimed at people with chemically treated hair or those who just want their hair to be shinier as it aims to add volume and lots of shine. It is made with certified orange extract so most of the products in the range have a soft orange aroma.
The High Shine Pomade is obviously also part of the Glisten styling range and comes in a 75ml tub for about £8.00ish. As you may have noticed, most of the MOP products are generally the same price! The pomade is intended to impart shine and definition onto hair that is shorter or accentuate layers in longer hair. It contains tonnes of great ingredients such as certified organic orange peel containing natural oil, evening primrose oil which has essential fatty acids for healthy, shiny hair and certified organic oatstraw for smoothness on dry hair. Other ingredients in the list are vitamins a and e, glycerine, palm oil, wheat protein, oat kernel oil and biotin.
Inside the tub, the pomade looks like really wet yellow jelly and it feels quite wet, but it is super shiny! Application advice is to use product sparingly and add more as needed. I tried the product once but to be honest its nothing like what i would normally use on my shoulder length hair and i gave it to a guy friend. At the time i used it is did have really short layers around the crown and wanted to accentuate these but it didn't seem to do a a lot. It kinda creates separation because it just lies there in your hair looking a bit greasy. Bit thick and a bit greasy with no hold factor.
It could be fantastic on a funky crop or thick curly hair but i think you would end up using a lot and ending up with it greasy as there it doesn't create much of an effect. Considering the price, you can only really use a dab without it being too greasy. It seems to be like its one of those products that would suit someone with a short cut that just rolls out of bed and doesn't really need to do any styling at all but would maybe like a touch of shine.
