...review is based on a Sony NW-E3 MPE Player. I bought one of these Sony MP3 players a few years ago and at the time it seemed like a cracking piece of kit, extremely small and light. The build quality of the player is excellent as is the sound quality, it has 3 levels of bass and the supplied headphones even cope with the sound turned up very high. The 64mb of space on the player isn't expandable and isn't very big, only room for around 20 songs, ...
...converted to ATRAC format (a Sony MP3 format) using the supplied Sony software before they can be used on the player and they have to be uploaded using the same Sony software which isn't very good to be honest. The cable supplied as with the rest of the unit is well built but only suitable for that exact player, if you loose the cable you can't just use another USB cable, it has to be a new cable. ...that those wonderful people at Sony had not completely gone out of their minds, and released two models that accepted my beloved mp3. I opted for the massive 128mb one, splashing out a bit, but it was well worth it. I can now fit an ear-imploding 70-80 songs on my microscopic player. The scroll wheel feels comfortable to use and it is very easy to select what you want with minimal fuss. ...is no worse than anything sony or creative can throw at it. Audio quality generally comes down to two things, the quality of the music and the quality of the headphones. Personally im not a huge fan of the ipod headphones so i have bought a £20 pair of sennheisers that do the job nicely. The apple ipod touch is an amazing device that can be used almost anywhere at almost anytime. It is a very clever device that allows you to listen to your favourite music or watch your favourite movies on the go. ...it also came with some apple stickers. Once i managed to turn the ipod on i set up the internet which was really quick. It has some really good features and is a good nifty gadget.
