Lovely lil piece Advantages: small, leightweight and good features Disadvantages: fiddly controls ...mp3 walkman 20gb, and thought sony would offer a pretty good "small" mp3 player... im not too sure whether i prefer this to the sony bean that came out a year or so ago. i like the asthetics of this handy clip on player, it weighs next to nothing and at around the same price as an Ipod nano, at least you get to see the tracklisting on screen. 2gb holds enough songs, around about 200 at the moment, the software is better than that supplied with my ... ...with this product, all hail sony who have given anouther fresh product to out do the guys at apple. if you want a small mp3 player that u wont even feel your carrying this one offers the features and functionality that are unmatched. Sony NW-S 703 1GB Advantages: Sound! Battery life and software. Disadvantages: Headphone input jack durability. ...lose so any movement caused sound to cut and echo. Had to be sent away too (I'll get replacement cover next time!) Anyway giving up and selling. Why buy an Ipod? Advantages: Size, ease of use, sonic stage, durability Disadvantages: price, compatibility, naff supplied headphones I sold my 20gb ipod after its second hard drive replacement and went solid state with what was the best bit of kit I could find when I bought it 18 months ago. Ok I've only got a weeks music to listen to but the unit is nigh on indestructable I've dropped mine a dozen times, had it rained on and spilt beer on it and have had zero issues it just keeps on working. The biggest plus is sonic stage which uses next gen. compression to get more tracks on ... ...also the biggest drawback as all the stuff I'd downloaded via itunes and napster required a lot of work to make them compatible and getting it to reverse is nigh on impossible. The best player I have ever owned Advantages: Excellent sonic performance, noise cancelling, bright screen Disadvantages: Slightly flimsy control wheel, Sonicstage software may also be an issue for some ...I have owned include a Sony Walkman CD player, a Panasonic Minidisc player, a Sony HD1, and a Sony HD5, an iPod Mini, iPod Nano, and an iPod Video, all of which were sold within around four months of first purchasing them. Related to the sound of the player, is the built in noise cancelling, a feature unique to this player. At first I thought that this was purely a gimmicky feature included by Sony to give them a USP and gain a few more sales. How ... ...software in the past, however, Sony has made a great number of improvements to it, and althoufh it isn't quite as easy to use as iTunes, it is quite manageable and easy enough to live with.
