Advantages: Fast, cheap, stable, excellent support and v good manual Disadvantages: Requires a minimum of Win ME upwards
...Ive been using the MSi845E max (6566e) motherboard for the past 2 years and it still performs as stable now as it did back then.
The board itself is very well packaged and comes with all the usual extras including drivers CD and IDE cables for both CD-roms/hard drives and floppy disc aswell as an excellently informative and well laid out manual.
The 845E Max by MSi supports all Pentium 4 processors as well as Celerons upto 3.06 ghz using the built in 845E Intel chipset and includes full support for both 133mhz front side bus (FSB) quad pumped (133 x 4 = 533 fsb) Pentium 4's and 184 pin PC 2100 (266mhz) DDR memory upto 2 ghz, there are 2 available memory slots which is plenty for most people and i whole heartedly recommend firstly adding 1 x 512mb of DDR to the motherboard so as to leave 1 free DDR slot if you ever chose to add...

Advantages: Good Budget Motherboard, Holds Up To 2gb Ram Disadvantages: no APG slot
...Good motherboard, supports intel celeron D processors, and pentium 4 processors. The motherboard can hold up to 2 gig memory which is well more than enough for any game(atleast any that I have played) The four USB ports on the backside of the mobo comes in handy(especially for those who want to keep their usb products plugged in instead of keep hot swapping with other products. The board does not support APG graphic cards, seeing as it does not have a APG slot; but their are plenty of good pci cards out there. The board does have cmos jumpers, but no boot protection. All in all a good mobo for a good price...

Advantages: Stability and price Disadvantages: Possibly limited PCI slot and memory DIMM's
...this with some memory I have kicking around it obviously didn't work. Upon browsing for this issue, I see others have tried it and even MSI has verified you cant run DDR2 and DDR consecutively on this board.
This would be a hindrance if we were talking about a full ATX board, however one active DIMM isn't really a big issue. In fact, the flexibility between DDR and DDR2 memory is quite welcoming.
MOTHERBOARD/GENERAL
Rear I/O panel:
1 x Serial port, 1 x PS/2 Keyboard and 1 x PS/2 Mouse, 1 x Audio (3 in 1), 2 x USB 2.0, 1 x RJ45 LAN jack, 1 x VGA
As well as flexibility with the memory and cpu the motherboard also offers two onboard USB blocks, which will support a further four USB ports, on the front panel for example. Quite nice, as some other micro ATX boards I have seen only offer one block, which can be a problem if you have more...
