Advantages: Economy, reliability, comfort Disadvantages: small boot
I've owned a 1.5DCI Dynamique from new (2004) and have covered 63,000 miles. Had a couple of minor things fixed under warranty, door handle paint and steering column knock(?), despite not buying the car from a Main Dealer they honoured warranty repairs. Cheap Road Tax, Car Insurance, comfortable, lots of toys and economical. The only unusual fault was an intermittent STOP / OIL indication, which lasted a day or two - suspected wet electrics when the car was serviced by a non-Renault garage. At the time I was a bit unnerved by the complexity of the electronic systems, 7 units talking hooked up to diagnostics, but it settled down. That was 6,000 miles ago though. Interestingly the stalling of the rear wash wipe (common) is a s/w fault, in my case I didn't bother mentioning this until the STOP light problem, but it could have beenfixed ...
Advantages: reliable, stylish Disadvantages: none so far
aspect, wheels, trims, body design, lights, interior the list goes on.
Most of all it is aparently the most economical small car in its class. I'm currently averaging 54.5 mpg. It's nippy for a diesel( I was expecting something a bit more slow off the mark, how wrong I was)
As for value, I paid 14k for the megane, and only 9,700 for the clio. All the accessories are the same, updted though. The only missing item to compare with is air con.
To sum up, great value for money, very sporty looking, nippy! ...

I drive about 38,000 miles a year, and have always favoured diesel cars. I have owned new Citroens, but during the past 5 years have purchased used Peugeots.
Image is not important. Reliability is a must, though, so I turned away from the Citroen with their hydraulic suspension (ok when new but in my experience troublesome after 50,000 miles) when seeking a used car capable of the mileages I cover.
With Peugeot I have in general found maintenance to be straightforward, reliability is good, and economy is very good.
I had two 205 diesels, both of which were very good. Then one day I saw a low mileage 106 Zest 3 diesel.
When reviewing a car, the opinion will of course depend on the owner's experiences with the previous car. I can say that the 106 is better in every way than the 205. I have so far covered just 25000 ...
