Manufacturer's product description
The MSI MEGA Book L730 Series features a 17-inch wide-screen WXGA glare display for vivid color saturation and incredible details and sharpness. The wide-screen can display multiple windows in cascaded or tiled format. This significantly minimizes the time required to switch back and forth among windows or to scroll up and down a window itself. Users may use the Excel spreadsheet application to create tables and charts, while at the same copying and pasting them to a Power Point slide. The MSI MEGA Book L730 Series is equipped with a full-size keyboard and a numeric keypad. This makes the MSI 17-inch Series notebook model the best desktop replacement.

...I got this as a Christmas present last year as i needed a laptop to do school work surf the internet and just th usual sorts of things. This laptop is great for that and more.
It comes with a 1.8 ghz AMD sempron processor which is pretty good for the £500 this laptop costs. It has 1 gb of ram and an 80 Gb hard disk which is big enough for the average home user. It has a 15.4" TFT monitor. It can play about 2 hours of DVD playback at full charge and it can do just under 3 hours while doing normal work on it. It's very good value for money but it does have bad things going for it aswell.
The keyboard was the main let down for me as it has been crushed into a small space and i pretty hard to get used to it. They have tried to cram a whole numerical keypad onto the side of the keyboard which is only useful if you are doing alot...

Advantages: Incredibly cheap, reliable CPU Disadvantages: FSB+Cache could be better
...The Sempron 3000+, now a lower end, low cost CPU. Is it still worth buying? In short, yes. I have just this week purchased a new PC, decided on the socket AM2 sempron3000+. So far, so very, very good.
This is a chip that impresses, at around £35, you'd expect a budget, just about usable chip. This is far from reality, running XP professional edition is no longer a hair-loss inducing experience, and even better, I no longer get horrible skips and jumps and pauses through music and video.
For the overclockers, this is a recommended buy. We all know overclocking can be a risky business, but at this price, it really doesn't matter if you do need a new one. As far as overclocking goes, I've seen this chip OC at 50%, and heard it can run stable at more.
Buying an AM2 mainboard for your new chip will also make life much...
