my only source of Internet access at home ever since ORANGE decided to split their ADSL to ADSL2 necessitating a change from the USB SpeedTouch modem to the Ethernet connection of the LIVEBOX . The Laptop was cumbersome and heavy. It had a tendency to overheat, and about a year ago the battery decided to stop charging, meaning that if there was a power cut I no longer could continue working even if I was not online, and I lost my work. The keys were sticking and either skipping or doubling letters; Internet Explorer was running out of memory and apologetically closing regularly; the case was developing a few cracks, didn't close properly, and, quite frankly, was showing its age.

I bought my MSI Wind around a year ago, I have since fallen in love with it, bbut come to hate it on occasions!
It is brilliant for the creation of Word Documents and is a good way to carry about my Business documents, however in terms of Pure processing power, it falls down flat on its face.
The MSI Wind boasts a Dual Core 1.6 GHz processor (which means 2 800Mhz Cores). If the processor wasn't a dual core, I dont think it could even run windows! The second drawback would be the screen pixels. A little over 10 inches is the perfect size for a Laptop screen in my opinion. However, the MSI Wind has sacrificed the number of pixels to create this smaller screen. The screen is 1024x600. Which means that games that require a minimum of 1024 x 768 etc, will NOT run on the laptops native screen, and thus you will have to plug it into ...

and NTSC, it's practically useless for us living in an NTSC-using country. This seriously handicaps the Mega PC's chances as an HTPC platform out of the box, but it can be easily remedied by installing your favorite TV tuner into the PCI slot.
Now let us take a look at the innards of the Mega PC. Its motherboard is based on the antiquated SiS 651 chipset which is already a year old. It supports only up to a 2.8GHz processor and 533MHz FSB. It also supports PC2700 DDR-SDRAM. There is an AGP slot and a PCI slot available for expanding the Mega PC's functionality and two DDR-SDRAM slots with a maximum of 2GB total capacity. The AGP slot allows the Mega PC to be used by enthusiasts as it allows them to plug in their favorite 3D Accelerator. It's true that the integrated video can do 3D, but it's far from fast.
