I have to say, as a buyer of the product, I am pleased with the web camera and it's quality. The MSI StarCam 370i allows you to take pictures in the sizes of 640 x 480, 320 X 240, 352 X 288, 176 X 144 or 160 X 120. It usually has a 30 frame per second recording rate but it can be altered in the options.
When the web camera caming it in unique packing to fit it's moveable neck, the first impression I got which I said aloud in my head was, "Dude, sweet!" I took out the webcam, and found inside a CD containing all the drivers, an instructions manual, and a warranty leaflet.
I went to put my CD in the CD drive of my Microsoft Vistalaptop and found that I also install a thing called MyGuard which is a program that can be used in work situations, e.g. if you were playing flash games when you shouldn't be, or at home, say if someone was coming up behind you trying to sneak on you. I then went to install the StarCam 370i driver for the laptop. I found that since I was using a Vista laptop, I incurred a few mishaps whilst going through the process of installing and being able to use it properly afterhand. But never the less, I was still able to use the camera perfectly.
The web camera worked perfectly on MSN Messener, but sometimes froze, so you would need to restart the web camera conversation. Within the settings in MSN Messenger, you could alter the camera manually. So you can have different effects, styles and borders to have on whilst you were in the conversation. The camera also has a unique system of infrared light so it could be used in the dark. It also had lights on it so you could you it for, lets say, a book light.
The buttons on the web camera were simple to use. You had two buttons. On the left side is the control button to switch on the infrared lighting/white lights, depending on the surroundings and it's brightness, and on the right hand side was a button to take a picture. Now from the button, you could chose different applications as to where the taken photograph from the web camera should go. Me personally, I like my taken photographs to go straight to Adobe Photoshop as I can edit them without all the hassle of locating the picture (bearing in mind the images are rather small, but is a good challenge).
There are many other functions within the web camera, like being able to control the colour, brightness, constrast, B/W Mode, infrared light activity, the list goes on.
To sum this web camera up in a few words. as it is a cheap priced camera, it is well worth the buy if you just want a basic camera.
