Possibly The Best Notebook On The Market

Notebook laptops have become all the rage in the past year or two. Known for their ease of use, ultimate portability and value for money notebooks have become popular amongst university students to office workers. The MSI WIND is a great addition to the large range of notebooks already on the market and is quite possible up there with the best.

A little bit about the WIND

The WIND was created by Taiwan based company Micro Star International. WIND stands for Wi-Fi Network Device so as you would probably imagine this was not designed for serious gaming. It was designed mainly for surfing the internet and typing up documents and believe me there is a lot of space to store all these documents, with an amazing 120-160gb hard drive this will blow all other notebooks away. Tie the huge amount of hard drive space with a 1.6GHz atom porcessor and 1GB of DDR2 RAM and you've got urself a decent office notebook.

Good Aspects
There is a lot of disk space - The 120-160gb hard drive provides ample amounts of space to store documents, movies, pictures and videos.

It is great value for money - You can pick up one of these things for an average price of £275, which in my opinion is great value for money. It has all the features of a £375 laptop apart from the screen size.

It is comfortable - This is a lot easier to use compared to other notebooks. This is because the keys are not as clustered as other notebooks. MSI have spaced the keyboard out to provide maximum comfort and ease of use. The keys are (obviously) still not as easy to type with as a laptop but you can't really expect that from a notebook.

It is fast - The 1.6GHz provides more than enough power to run this little thing effectively, especially when tied with the 1GB of DDR2 RAM. Let me put this in to perspective for the more computer illiterate audience. Basically, a full sized laptop will generally have around 1-2GB of RAM (the more you have the faster your computer/laptop will be) and will have on average a 2GHz processor. This thing is almost as good as a normal laptop, the only difference is the screen and keyboard size.

It is capable of playing some low end games - I was able to play Call Of Duty and Far Cry on lowest detail at around 30 frames per second. I would not advise this this notebook for gaming though.

It has a webcam - In this day and age 1.3mp is nothing to get excited about but it will certainly do for those long distance video chats.

Bad Aspects

The keys can be tough to press - Sometimes the keys can be stiff and hard to push. This is bad especially when in a rush to type up a document.

The Final Verdict

This is a great little notebook. It is small and portable, is fast, cheap, good looking and is more than capable of processing simple tasks such as writing a report aswell as harder tasks such as watching videos and playing games. There is plenty of hard drive space to store music and videos and the 1GB of RAM helps to process things much faster.

Tips

If you are going to buy this notebook i suggest you do and don't do these things...

Do remember that this is only a laptop and that it is not as powerful as most laptops and computers, therefore it cannot do everything a laptop can.

Don't Install lots of software on this. - The more software you have on this the slower and slower your notebook will become.

Don't Throw away the packaging - If you for whatever reason ever need to return this you will need the packaging and everything that came with it in order to get a full refund/exchange.
