Advantages: Good Base, clear pitch and high sounds Disadvantages: Treble and Base are in the same speaker.
First of all, these speakers are originally made for producing a good firm Base.

The sound of the BX5 near-field monitors will amaze you. You get the same design criteria and component quality that goes into our larger BX8 studio reference monitors. The 5-inch low-frequency drivers and 1-inch high-frequency drivers accommodate a small cabinet design that allows placement just about anywhere. The Studiophile BX5s provide maximum flexibility for any monitoring situation - including surround sound. Add the Studiophile SBX subwoofer for more bass. Acoustic Space Control - Monitors that adapt to your needs Your monitors should be able to adapt to any changes in placement or work environment. That's just what Acoustic Space Control does - no matter whether you need to put your monitors on stands, on a bookshelf or in the corners. Features:* Ideal for surround sound With the increasing emphasis on surround sound for home theaters, shouldn't you be mixing in surround too? The minimal size and weight of the BX5s are ideal for setting up a surround monitoring system - especially when combined with our SP-8S active subwoofer for that bone-shaking low-end. Best of all, you can get the whole system for less than many stereo speaker pairs. * integral bi-amped 75-watt active near-field design * Acoustic Space Control optimizes performance regardless of placement * 5-1/4'' low-frequency drivers with mineral-filled polypropylene cones, high-temperature tolerant voice coils and damped rubber surrounds * 1'' natural silk high-frequency domes incorporating ferrofluid and internal damping technologies * sub-frequency ports deliver amazing bass response * magnetically shielded for desktop operation Technical Data:type: Two-way near-field studio reference monitors LF driver: 5-1/4 inch low-frequency drivers with mineral-filled polypropylene cones, high-temperature tolerant voice coils and damped rubber surrounds HF driver: 1-inch natural silk domes incorporating ferrofluid and internal damping technologies LF amplifier power: 38W (EIA RS-490 dynamic power) HF amplifier power: 38W (EIA RS-490 dynamic power) crossovers: 4th-order Linkwitz Riley crossover frequency: 3kHz low-frequency rolloff: 6th-order filter mid-boost in/out control Acoustic Space Control: 0/-2/-4dB diffraction shelf high frequency control: -2/0/+2dB low-cut frequencies: 56/80/100Hz input connectors: XLR balanced, TRS balanced/ unbalanced input sensitivity: 85 mV pink noise input produces 90dBA output SPL at one meter with volume control at maximum input impedance: 20k ohms balanced, 10K ohms unbalanced protection: RF interference, output current limiting, over temperature, transient on/off, subsonic filter, external fuse signal-to-noise ratio: > 100dB (typical, A-weighted) frequency response: 56Hz - 20kHz power indicator: power on/off indicator on front panel power requirements: 115V/~60Hz or 230V/~50Hz (selectable), power via detachable 3-conductor line cord cabinet: vinyl-laminated MDF w/ Sub Frequency Port dimensions/weight: 25 x 16.5 x 20 cm - 5 kg/unit
