...During my 2 years of studying A-Level Psychology, I found the Longman study guide by Mike Cardwell essential. At first the book looks a little daunting as it is huge (makes a good door stop, giving extra value for money!) and each page is crammed with text.
The book covers many subject areas from social relations, to mental health to crowds etc and follows the current A-Level syllabus.
The book is constantly revised so it is always up-to-date. Perhaps the most useful part of this book for me was the fact that after it states the theory it backs up its points by using relevant case studies. At the end of each chapter it summarises the key points in bullet point format and also sets you practice essay questions which help you retrieve the information you've read.
