Advantages: Cheapest of the range Disadvantages: Still pricier than DIY sandwiches

After dashing to the M&S express outlet just off Finsbury Circus, I head to the grassy knoll (summer months), appreciate the hundreds of people doing the same thing, loosen my tie, take ... ...package.
M&S's egg and cress sandwiches are delicious and I have never been able to duplicate them on my own at home. The egg is finely chopped (after being boiled) and then mixed with mayonaise (although it tastes more like salad cream). Cress is then laid across the egg mix to form a fantastic sandwich. The egg is finely chopped (after being boiled) and then mixed with mayonaise (although it tastes more like salad cream). Cress is then laid across the egg mix to form a fantastic sandwich. Depending on how long the sandwiches have been in the cooler, the bread will be soggy. The newer sandwiches are at the back of the shelf (in my outlet of M&S) so check the expiry dates for the newest batch. Also remember to check out the other sandwiches because sometimes there is more filling in some packages than others.
Pull out your 1.10 and head to the shortest queue.
Once you have found your grassy space, loosened your tie and taken off your jacket, open the package. The smell will be fantastic if you're hungry. A little sickly if you're not, just don't think about what your breath will be like after it's gone. (You might want to throw in a pack of gum while you're waiting in line at M&S).
If you get a good day and the bread isn't soggy, it is very soft. The filling is very tasty and there aren't usually many chunks that are too big in the mayonaise paste. If there is too much cress, just take some out (that's what the handy container is good for). Most of the time I find the right amount of cress, a nice egg flavour that is sweetened by the cream.
It's very good for you, vegetarian for those who don't eat meat (obviously) and affordable for those saving for a Friday night out.
