I have experimented with several brands of mouthwashes including Listerine and one from Colgate. However although these are both great products I needed something stronger because I am a smoker. I am therefore always willing to try something new, with reference to mouthwashes, and would readily try another product once my existing one was over.

Macleans provides me with everything that I need in a mouthwash and will probably be my brand of choice for a long time to come (unless I can find a stronger one of course).
Macleans Complete Care Mouthwash comes in an attractive turquoise bluish bottle of 300ml. The bottles are very attractive to look at and at present there is an offer of 20% more for the same price ie. 360ml. They go for £2.09 a bottle which is quite reasonable and infact cheaper than some other brands.
Using it is very easy since each bottle comes with its own measuring cap. All you need to do is to simply fill the cap upto the 1.5ml line and then gargle. It is recommended that you use it at least twice a day after brushing your teeth. However you can use it any time you want. I always have a gargle just before going out to a dinner or to a party/gathering. A bottle can last a long time thus making it very economical.
It comes in a strikingly fresh Coolmint flavour and as mentioned earlier this mouthwash is quite strong. Therefore gargling it for a long period may be difficult for some people (as one member rightly pointed out). I personally do not have any problem with this and infact gargle for longer than the one minute that is recommended. This is probably something to do with me trying to get all the smoke odours out of my mouth and plus I’ve been using mouthwash for ages so I’m pretty used to it.
As the name implies, not only does it provide you with fresh breath confidence it also contains the usual ingredients that help kills regular bacteria, that is found in your mouth, to provide you with a clean and healthy oral sensation.
This makes Macleans my favourite choice for a strong and reliable mouthwash. Everyone is also a lot happier now in my household, especially the wife.
Advantages: Relatively cheap, large bottles, measuring cap. Disadvantages: Damn strong!
...that in mind I bough MaCleans Complete Care Mouthwash in Coolimint variety as it was on special offer in Sainsburys - buy one get one free which worked out at £1.89 for two bottles - a bargain, I thought!
So here am I presented with two hefty 600ml bottles of the stuff. Attracively packaged in the usual blue colouring (why are mouthwashes so often blue?!) It comes with it's own measuring cap too which is handy to prevent dribbles and over-pouring. ... ...bacteria, protect your gums, strengthen your teeth, freshen your breath and help fight tooth decay - no real surprises there. It also boasts a 12 hour action. All great stuff - but you have to have a pretty strong mouth to use it in the first place.
Used twice daily after brushing, fill the cap to the 15ml line and "SWOOSH!" for up to 60 seconds then spit out. Pretty standard. The problem? I found it pretty hard to keep this stuff in my mouth for ...

I had the misfortune to try this stuff recently. Having asked my wife to get me some Listerine she returned home with three bottles of this from Tesco's . It was buy one get two free which says it all really.
It seems to have the most peculiar taste I can only describe it as tasting like burning plastic smells.
Whether this has something to do with it putting some kind of coating on your teeth I'm not sure. I struggled on with to the end of the ...

I have tried a variety of mouthwashes and this is by far the best, when I cannot buy it and subsitute with another brand, my mouth feels really scummy. This leaves your mouth feeling clean and fresh all day. I would describe it as a plesant "descourer" for the mouth, as you swill your mouth out, you can actually see the debris collected from using it... not the most plesant review in the world... but hey, you want the truth!

Advantages: stong,long lasting and protects your teeth and gums. Disadvantages: quite expensive
I have tried a few mouthwashes since i got my brace so that it made sure my teeth were extra clean and so that i had really fresh breathe. This mouthwash has to be the best out of all of them. It is very strong and lasts for a very long time. On the bottle it says to swirl it around in your mouth and gargle it for 60 seconds but i found it very hard to gargle for that long as it is soo strong. It also makes your teeth and gums feel very clean and ... ...time after using it. The bottle also comes with a measuring cap and on the bottle it tells you how much roughly you should measure out to use.
This mouth wash smells and tastes minty but it has a slightly different taste to most minty dental products but cant quite figure out what sort of taste it is.
The packaging is simple but very effective and is quite eye catching as it is a blue and green label on the bottle and has a measuring cap on top ...

Macleans complete care mouthwash well I think the fact that it fights plaque its got a antibacterial action in it which is always a good thing for a mouth wash. It also protects your gums and it also strengthens your teeth. The may thing that I brought it for was to freshen my breath.
