01/02 the Championship Manager? Yes
Advantages: Easy to play, fast, so comprehensive. Disadvantages: lacks updates, not as detailed as later versions.
...an intrduction to the unbeatable Championship Eidos series, this is the one to choose.
It is not quite as comprehensive as CM4 but, if you don't have a very fast computer, this will run with a few leagues easily enough.
If you are looking for comprehensive details, stats and in game 2d match engines, look later on in the series, 03/04 seems to be the best option in y opinion, but buy cm 01/02 now to enjoy a few hours of reality....I mean virtual ... ...you get started,

A fantastic piece of visceral, violent sci-fi nostalgia.
Advantages: visceral, entertaining, reliable, great animation, cool guns, lots of enemies. Disadvantages: repetitive levels, enemies are blown to bits far too easily.
Quake II is a first person action sci-fi shooter released by ID Software and Activision in 1997. The player assumes the role of a space marine, Bitterman, taking part in "Operation Alien Overlord," a final struggle to save the human race from a vast and deadly alien invasion by a cybernetic humanoid race, the Strogg, equipped with a vast arsenal of mechanical and biological weaponry. This is attempted by launching a counter-assault on the Strogg ... ...and shotguns. (Although the original Quake arsenal - axe, nail-gun, super-nailgun and Thunderbolt are all gone, the much-loved 'Quad damage' is still in the game.) Animation is spectacular for the time and even now is not to be sniffed at. One small problem with Quake II is that the enemies tend to burst into ludicrous and unrealistic gibs if you hit them hard, with can detract somewhat from the experience, however a patch can be downloaded to rectify ...

Disturbing by any videogame standards.
Advantages: Gripping story, excellent style, really good gameplay, very likeable characters, dark and macabre. Disadvantages: Graphics are somewhat dated, only a few cinematics
...puzzle adventure platform game by American McGee. It runs exactly the same on a Mac as it would a PC, with no compatibility issues whatsoever.
A dark and twisted adaptation of Lewis Carroll's classic works, American McGee's Alice uses plot elements of 'Alice in Wonderland' as well as 'Through the looking glass.' Despite not being a big fan of platformers myself, I found this one quite entertaining. Much of the emphasis in this game seems to be on ... ...fire, a young girl, Alice, becomes withdrawn and suicidal. She is subsequently placed in a mental asylum where she continues saying nothing comprehensible to anyone, often responding violently to any attempts at interaction. She retreats into a World of her own, Wonderland, where many macabre versions of characters and places seen in Carroll's work are made real. The Cheshire Cat, for example is a mangy, almost skeletal creature with little fur left ...

A great and original game
Advantages: Unique gameplay Disadvantages: A long learning curve
Savage is a game that offers it all, as it literly is the first FPS/RTS now you may be thinking what exactly that mean basicly it mean it's a first person shooter and real time stratergy game which me you can acutaly decide to be an acutaly charecter fighting for your side in hand to hand combat or a more important role of commander where you can lead up to 40 different people telling them where to attack deciding what to build and what resources ... ...due to the fact it is quite old you might in interested in getting the second version of this game however i still feel this a great game and as it is now completely free theres nothing too lose.
The Gameplay:
the gameplay in this game is absolutely amazing and interesting however playing agaisnt more experienced player can make this a very annoying and frustrating thing to get around however theres still alot to enjoy whether you decided to play ...

"In the age of chaos, two factions battle for dominance..."
Advantages: important in terms of gaming history, charming, nostalgic, will run on any modern computer. Disadvantages: dated, slow, tricky interface, lazy unit balances,
...still incredibly playable. Warcraft: Orcs and Humans offers very good multiplayer facilities for the time, supporting up to four players on any one network. It can't be played over the internet without a lot of patching, and even so, I doubt many people are even still playing it. Games like this are much more fun when played with other people, particularly friends. The game was one of the first to appear on an actual CD, and as a result features ...
