Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard is the biggest update to the Mac operating system since OS X was first released. It is the first update that I would recommend purchasing on it's own rather than waiting till you need to upgrade to a new Macintosh computer. Some of the most useful features are Time Machine which is a one button backup system (it requires an external hard drive), Spaces, an application that helps organize applications when multitasking , and Bootcamp that allows Windows XP or Vista to load natively on Intel Macintosh computers. Bootcamp alone gives you the functionality of having a whole other computer if you need to run windows applications and don't wish to use a program like parallels or virtual PC that don't run at native speeds. Quicklook and Stacks in the dock are both excellent time saving features. Quicklook allows a small preview window to appear for almost any file type which shows the content of the file without fully opening it. Stacks allows you to store the contents of whole folders in the dock so the user can easily access applications and documents in an organized fashion. OS X now is also fully Unix/ Linus compatible, so all Linux apps will run. This means with one computer you can use Windows, Mac OS or Linux apps. All together the updates offer a very good value upgrade for the OS X operating system.

(+) Faster, good networking with other Windows machine, so far it has not crashed. (-) price, best to do a fresh install which will involve backup & restore of information
Advantages: Superb screen, superior speakers, huge capacity, multiplicity of functions, brilliant photo suite Disadvantages: A new 'language' to learn and company support not as good as one would expect.
