I bought a new Powerbook earlier this year which came preloaded with this, the latest mac operating system.
The new interface is great! it comes with extra programs including boot camp, this allows you to run multiple operating systems from your mac, on start up you simply hold the 'options' key and the choice comes up of which os you boot from, i thought it would be very slow, but it works at regular speed and works seamlessly! its like having three separate computers! a mac, windows and Linux all at once!
Another new feature is 'quick look' you can view a file in a scrolling album style interface without actually opening them, works the same with music and video, this is very good and saves opening programs constantly. It can zoom so you can view and read word, excel and PowerPoint docs without actually opening them!
Time machine is another feature which is very similar to system restore on a PC, you can recover your mac to a previous point if encounter any problems.
Spaces has been added to the mac interface, effectively giving you six separate work spaces which are fully customizable. It sorts your windows between 6 'spaces' which you can flick between with a flick of a button or mouse.
The dock has been updated with 'stacks' which is an expandable stack of links within the dock, which means you can add short cuts to your favourite movies and documents on your menu. all this and so so much more, its great! just check out apple for more stuff...
