The best operating system out there Slightly higher prices on some software items.
This OS is the best on the market, bar none. They say VISTA is a good rival, it doesn't even come close. And now with OS X Leopard on the table, Microsoft's version doesn't have a hope in hell of surviving the furious market that is the Computer Industry. I have had a Powermac G5 with Mac OS X Tiger installed, for about 5 months now and having used it alongside a PC, it is astronomically better. The windows pc is pretty high spec'd and not even that could out do the beast that is Mac OS X Tiger. I love the ease of use on the interface, everything just looks so.... sexy. The icons on the dock are easily recogniseable and the design of the buttons and the windows are fantastic. There are many options you can fiddle with, for example the desktop you can have change the image and you can change the size and transparency of the dock, all making for a very easily customizable working area. Safari is the web browser that is packaged with OS X and it is by far the best out there, it is just so fast and easy to use. The finder in OS X is easy to use, that is the daddy of the "My computer's". In windows XP, you can go to the my computer and it gives you a load of different drives and folders in a muddled up sort of way, on mac, there is no confusion. Another bonus is, THERE ARE NO VIRUS'. Absolutely no such thing!!! no more antivirus, you can buy norton for it but there is no point. don't waste your money on that rubbish, Windows XP might need it but not OS X, it is far superior. Like they say on the adverts, It works right out of the box, this, is no exception, if you want an os that just works, you need to get Mac OS X Tiger. You also get iLife with the package which includes, iTunes, iDVD HD, iCal, iPhoto and loads more. This is really helpful for all you budding multimedia fans out there. The only downside to this is that software is slightly more expensive, but that's the price you pay for perfection.
This OS really does use ur mac to it's full potential, not a piece of memory is left unused or put in the wrong "file", it is kept running at it's fastest.

installs easily, and works with the software and accessories you already have. With 300+ new features, Leopard is the most impressive Mac OS X version yet. TOP NEW FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS IN LEOPARD: Desktop. A neat place to work. Leopard brings a stunning new look to the desktop, and stacks provides a great new way to keep it clean. Just one look at the desktop in Mac OS X Leopard says you've arrived someplace new. From the menu bar to the stunning new Dock, Leopard is designed to help you enjoy the time you spend at your computer -- and help you get more out of it. An eye-opening experience. Start from the top. The menu bar hovers transparently above your workspace, letting the desktop image--perhaps a favourite from your iPhoto library--take center stage. Dock icons rest on a reflective floor with a bright active application signal. And the look of Leopard extends to all applications: Every window has a consistent design theme, and active applications are even more distinct, casting deeper shadows. Stacked in your favor. Take a look at your desktop. Is it cluttered with files you downloaded or saved there (somewhat less than) temporarily? You're not alone. Everybody does it. Time to clean house with Stacks--a brand-new feature in Leopard. Create Stacks from anything you want to access quickly from one place: a handful of documents, a group of applications, an entire folder. Files you download in Safari or save from an email are automatically directed to a Stack in the Dock, and when the download is complete, the Stack signals that a new item has arrived. When you want to see the files in a Stack, all you have to do is click--Stacks spring open from the Dock in an elegant arc for a few items, or in an at-a-glance grid for more. Finder. Give your files the rock star treatment. See your files right in the Finder and browse through them with Cover Flow. And make distant machines look like they're nearby with the new sidebar and Back to My Mac. The sidebar steps up. Leopard brings new power to your old friend, the sidebar. Now items are grouped into categories: places, devices, shared computers, and searches--just like the Source list in iTunes. So with a single click, you're on your way to finding what you need. See what you seek. Bring your files to life with Cover Flow in the Finder. Just as you use Cover Flow to flip through album art in iTunes, now you can use it to flip through your files. Cover Flow displays each file as a large preview of its first page. And you can
