I am studying this play at school now and I am finding it very enjoyable. The basic storyline is that Macbeth, a vicious, and bloody character, along with his wife Lady Macbeth want to have power and rule Scotland. Lady Macbeth being the manipulative type loves to get her own way, and plans out the killing of the king of Scotland. In the days this play was written people believed that the king of Scotland was God's appointed servant, so when the king of Scotland dies, things start to change such as the weather and the way people behave. Macbeth also betrays his friends, and starts to take a different attitude towards people. There are several different versions of Macbeth as film also. A superbly written play by William Shakespeare.
It'd be more helpful if you told us a bit more about how the charachters are built up, how Shakespeare uses the words to make us feel hatred or pity towards them...Do a bit of a book review basically.
is market-leading series has been completely updated to meet the needs of today's A-level and undergraduate students. Written by established literature experts...
