The EQ is instinctive, versatile and smooth. The desk is an excellent choice for studios on a budget looking or a 24 track recording set up. The 32:8 frame size allows the space for effects returns and the like over the 24 tape returns; six aux's allow for multiple ... ...at the current prices, the mackie offers a pro sounding desk for a relatively project/hobby price. Sure people will point at the Behringer desks - based in many ways on the Mackie design - that are around half the price. But that extra buys reliability, better components, a MUCH quieter desk and the sort of reliability that the Behringer just can't touch.
