Both my Microsoft controllers anologues got slightly right after 2 years and 6 months ... ...my 2 microcon controllers has also suffered the same fate as my originals).
If you are looking for a cheap alternative to the Microsoft controller for ocassional used I would have no problem recommending this controller whereas if you need a controller to stand hard use stick to the originals.
This controller does feel slightly cheaper and the analogues are looser than the originals. Give it to your mate. They should ... more
I am a serious gamer and 3rd party controllers are no longer the dimal pieces of cheap rubbish that they use to be. I am not saying this is better quality that the Microsoft versions however they do have some redeeming features.
Well in this controllers case maybe just the one. The trigger buttons are sprung loaded and have much more give than the microsoft versions. This is an advantage for games such as Forza where to be the best you don't want to be on full throttle or slam on the brakes and you need to ease these on. This controller certainly has the edge here.
I've had my controller for over 6 months now and its still going. Admittedly its not usually my first choice controller as I use the Microsoft original for most games. The Madcatz Microcon controller for precision gaming and have this as a spare but its still stood the test of time.

Both my Microsoft controllers anologues got slightly right after 2 years and 6 months in the Madcatz is still spot on (although oe of my 2 microcon controllers has also suffered the same fate as my originals).

This controller does feel slightly cheaper and the analogues are looser than the originals. Give it to your mate. They should be happy you invited them round anyway and if they've got their own Xbox they can bring their own controller.
Advantages: Working controller for on the cheap Disadvantages: Awkward buttons, Uncomfy compared to official controller
The madcatz controller is a step back to the majority of X360 controllers due to it being wired but that has it's advantages too such as not needing to be recharged.
In a comparison to the official X360 wired controller it is not as comfy on the hands and the start/select buttons are more awkward to press, I guess the fact that the controller is cheaper makes up for this but it would still be nice if this was improved upon.
The controller has the ... ...harder to move which makes me think that they should have spent a bit longer on their ergonomics testing.
A good point to make is that unlike a lot controllers which are unofficial it doesn't disconnect a lot or glitch up which is always an advantage as it can be a pain when your controller suddenly freezes in the middle of your favourite game.
I would recommend this controller if you are looking for a secondary controller on the cheap like I was ...

Advantages: its cheap Disadvantages: the whole thing is very bad
To be honest, i must say that i think this contoller is very bad, and would not recommend it to anyone else.
Firstly, the overall quality of the controller is poor the buttons feel cheap, and the overall feel of the controller feels cheap, and by this i mean whereas the official controller feels soft, and fits to your hand perfectly, this controller is plasticy, slippery and feels like it has made for about 99 pence.
Secondly the overall shape is different from the official controller, which makes this controller feel very odd to hold, and due to the plastic makes it feel very slippery.
And lastly the responsiveness of this controller is not good due to the cheap feeling buttons, and the fact that some buttons are in completely different places from the official controller, which makes it very annoying whilst playing games
