First things first...HELLO!!!! I hope you are all well and warm.
...get on with it.... OK here it is then....
I wanted to share with you my impressions of my day in the Pyrenees....i know, that's really short, but as we were staying a week near Perpignan, it was only took an hour and a half to get there.
The "Cambre d'Aze" is the name of a mountain side which becomes ski-able in winter and consists of two ski stations: Eyne and St. Pierre dels Forcats. It is also beautiful in the summer. (but of course, not ski-able).
We went up to St. Pierre dels Forcats a couple of weeks ago. There are 3 shops where you can rent ski's, boots, helmets (for kiddies) or snowboards. The one we rented from is called "La boule de neige". It costs, for a pair of boots and skis ...

Pau is a is a large French town, situated next to the Pyrenees. It is the capital of the Pyrenees-Atlantiques departement. It started out as a small village in the 15th Century, then Gaston Febus built a chateau there and the town grew. Henry IV of France was born there in the 16th Century. In the 19th Century, Pau became popular with the British because of its mild climate, but then they transferred their affections to Biarritz.
Now Pau is a university town, and it is also important in the French oil industry.
The two main reasons to visit Pau are to winter sports, as the Pyrenees are so close, and motor racing.
How to get there
