Gogos, why do kids rave about them? If you haven't heard about these you are out of touch with child culture in my hometown and probably across Britain.
Basically I think they have the same appeal as marbles did for my generation. Children line the Gogo figures up, which are individually unique and collectable (each Gogo is available in five different colours), and flick them at their opponents Gogos. If they hit their opponents Gogos they take them and line them up with their Gogos and then their opponent gets a turn, until one player has no Gogos left. The games and flick matches children create are even simple enough for them to teach the grandparents to join in when they visit.
Gogos come with collectable stickers matching the Gogos to help you remember which Gogo belongs to which player. They come 3 in a pack, with 3 stickers. Why are three tiny plastic figures and three stickers worth a £1? For me it is worth it for the joy my children get each time they open the bag and smile, and excitedly compare the ones they have bought, and the educational and memory skills it gives them, of working out whether they have got the same ones already in their collection, or the same one but in a different colour, etc, etc.,
My son aged 3 loves his gogos so much that they are regular part of bath time for him now, and he will bring and chat to these small individual plastic figures in almost any play setting. These figures are not suitable for children who are not past the stage of putting things in their mouths, fortunately my son is.
