You just have to press a flat surface and this can take a bit of getting used to as there's always the chance you'll miss-press something. Once you hold the set to your ear it detects it and locks the keypad so you won't press anything during the call. These phones look very stylish, they are light and you can choose from a range of cheerful ring tones, the battery life is okay, but and this is a BIG but.. the touch keys are the most irritating things ever! I have little hands and still cant dial a number in very quickly as it either wont pick up on the touch or i slip and miss! My boyfriend who has much larger hand than i do finds it nearly impossible to dial in a number correctly first time! ...

There is the option of locking the keypad which is a pain if you are in a hurry trying to unlock the keypad! ...Though not especially practical, the Magic Box simply oozes class. There is no other landline phone like it, and is a must have for those that are keen to impress.
