For around £200 - which I admit is a significant outlay for coffee - you get a sleek looking machine which is simple to use and, best of all, very easy to clean. You don't have to bang compacted coffee out for a start, just empty the reservoir of used capsules. You see, the actual coffee comes pre-packaged in small foil capsules. It is supplied in a variety of strengths and flavours - in colourful capsules a little like thimbles.
You place the capsule in the machine, press the lever down and hot water is jetted through the coffee to deliver a delicious, hot expresso - into which you can add hot water (from the spout) to make an americano or steamed milk (which you again make using the spout) for capuccino.
The supporting information could turn you into a coffee officianado! The starter pack helps you determine which coffee blend is best for you - you have quite a number of different types to chose from, all described as lovingly as wine in the literature. From that you determine your favourites and you order replacements over the internet. Delivery is very fast, next day in my experience. Each cup works out at between 21p and 24p - depending on the blend and the 'length' i.e expresso or longhi (longer coffee)
An added advantage is that the coffee actually contains less caffeine than filter or cafetiere coffee as caffeine is carried in water, and the blast of hot water used to make expresso is less than the other two methods.
The downside? Well, as I mentioned £200 is a bit of an outlay and you have to order capsules online - which also means storing them somewhere. However, for someone who really appreciates a good cup of coffee some prices are never too high!
I'd been put off the other machines, because of the cleaning involved (I worked in a restaurant where we served from a 'proper' expresso machine!) but this is simplicity itself.
Actually - must finish this now as I fancy a coffee, mmm Volutto I think.

You paid How Much for a pre prepared capsule loader espresso machine?? Lordy! Ill stick to more traditional methods and spend more money on something more conventional - unless this machine can do both?? Good review though. Best of luck! Nar
