One drink that I have always loved is Cider and recently it has become rather trendy with the addition of different flavour combinations and new companies making it. One company that seems to have... more

I have been meaning to review Magners since I joined Ciao again, but haven’t been able to get around to it until now. Magners, is by far my favourite alcoholic beverage, and has been since I was 17, replacing the copious amounts of alchopops which I used to drink. It is the staple drink I have on a night out, and can be found in nearly every pub in Britain. In fact, the only time I have had problems getting it, was when I was in Twickenham last year, where several pubs that I went in, only had Bulmers. The title, was a literary masterpiece courtesy of the one and only - Tallulahbang! The ... more

Magners Cider is something which I've just come across lately. What I mean is, my dad has been drinking ths stuff for ages and there's always a few bottles stashed underneath our kitchen cupboard but until lately, he's been the only one in our house who's drunk this stuff. The only cider I've ever tried before has been Diamond White and some cheap Tesco's own brand stuff, which I got famously drunk with one night outside our local community centre a few years back. Since then I've never drunk cider again as it brings back horrible memories of being violently ill, being grounded for ... more

Advantages Advantages Refreshing, a cider with character

    Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit pricey

I am not a big drinker of alcoholic beverages but do like the occasional bottle of cider. A colleague at work recommended Magners Irish Cider. Although I had heard of Magners, it was not a brand which I was used to drinking because I tend to buy brands like Strongbow and Woodpecker. However, on a recent shopping trip, I spotted bottles of Magners on the shelf so thought I'd opt for one of these instead. PACKAGING You can buy Magners in bottle or can format. I chose to buy a 568ml bottle from Tesco which cost me £1.99. The bottle is very traditional-looking. It is tall and made from brown glass ... more

Magners Cider was first launched in Glasgow, at the beginning of 2003, even though it was launched in Scotland it is an Irish cider. Been a big drinker of cider I have tried most different varieties of cider; I did used to prefer sweet cider compared to dry. In most pubs though you can only buy dry cider, mainly strong bow on pump. So this is what I began drinking, until a few months ago when I discovered Magners. So I decided to try the cider, the barman at the pub did inform me that it was best to drink this with plenty of ice in a pint glass, I decided to try it without the ice first, the ... more

    Advantages Advantages tastes refreshing

I used to love a Lambrini when going out but lately I have just been thirsty for something a bit more chilled and refreshing. Don't get me wrong I do still love spirits and the odd glass of wine but now getting into the summer months, I enjoy a nice cold glass of Magners. Bulmer's is quite similar but I definitely think Magners is the pricier but better tasting option as it just has something about it which makes me willing to pay the extra more. You can buy Magners in the separate bottles which at the minute are actually quite cheap and it's nice to drink over ice without getting you tipsy in ... more
