INTRODUCTION I bought my flat a couple of years ago, and I have always intended to do up the bathroom and kitchen. The bathroom is a mess and the kitchen has always looked a bit "tired", with 70s fittings and no cabinet space on the wall, ensuring that my work surfaces were always covered with...

Progood quality build of units

Conslack of communication, lack of workmen!

To start with, I couldn't fault Magnet. The salesman was really helpful and gave the impression that he understood my situation. (I have back problems and my mother who lives with me is disabled). I chose the Faro range as it looked nice and was within my budget. I have a fairly small kitchen and...

ConsDreadful service and poor quality units

Last year we were fortunate enough to be able to build a new extension to our home and incorporate our dream kitchen. Unfortunately we chose Magnet and that dream turned into a nightmare. The problems began the day we first arranged to see a kitchen designer. Our appointment was for 10am but...

ConsRude, impersonal service

Having decided to buy a new kitchen in the january sales, I put together a shortlist of stores to visit. Geographically, Magnet (Villiers Road, Kingston upon Thames) came first and were advertising 50% off and a further 10% discount for the first week. Great! So we went in, had a look around and...

Prohigh street provider, nice showrooms

Consvery poor fitting service

We believed the advertising and the brochures and went along to a Magnet showroom. We were prepared to pay a bit more for a quality product, believing the brochure about their 'Craftsmen' fitters and good quality cabinets. How wrong we were. This was late 1999, so if Magnet has changed since then...

Our nightmare began when we decided to buy a Magnet kitchen (from Villiers Road Kingston branch) basically because we were enticed by a special offer and because the showroom was closest to us. The showroom was very well laid out and the units looked good, enabling us to fully envisage the...

Until the point came to fit the kitchen, I genuinely thought I'd be writing a rave review of Magnet. The kitchens themselves are great quality for the price, the deals they offer very competitive and the design service excellent. But then, oh dear, I made the mistake of thinking that Magnet would...

ConsSee Opinion

BEWARE MAGNET KITCHENS This is surely the worst company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Our new dream kitchen project has been a disaster from beginning to end. The work, which was paid for in full in advance, was started in November 1999 by mid August 2000, is still incomplete...

ProGood looking kitchens

ConsPoor service

First one was for a property development in London - friendly staff, poor design by new boy. Failed to spot our 'p|ssed' walls (they sloped in a bit) and the layout was poor. We re-jigged it and all was well apart from one work top which was completely wrong. They also missed an end panel out. In...

ProSpacious showroom, nationwide reputation

ConsRubbish product

The first thing mentioned was that only Magnet craftsmen supply and fit these kitchens. One of the first things the "craftsman" told me was that he does not work for Magnet. He is self-employed. I cannot count the number of items damaged during fitting; the number of screws left out, stripped...

ConsWe were a bit unlucky with the designer

We initially invited three companies to quote for our new kitchen -Magnet, Moben and a local independent company. The quotes were all quite similar and we chose Magnet as they seemed the most enthusiastic, adaptable and professional. We love our new Magnet kitchen and overall our experience was...

Magnet Doncaster . Lovely salesman who was at the time very helpfull , that is until you find damaged pieces of your kitchen hidden in the great piles left by the delivery men. All of a sudden you are a pain and as they have got your money they become a lot less helpfull. I found the manager is patronising in his manners and quite arrogant in his approach allthough he reassured me he did not think he was. I spent over £8000 with them for equip only and they do not even want to replace a damaged cooker despite earlier reassurances. I am taking them to County Court . I would not advise anyone to ever deal with them again if my treatment is their answer to customer relations .

This is an update to an earlier post with a bit more flesh on it. This relates to an Innsbruck kitchen bought from Magnet Lichfield branch in Staffordshire. We had a good start with magnet.
