Whilst searching for new eye shadows, I stumbled upon the 'Make Up Academy' collection. I decided, whilst I was buying some of their products anyway, I may as well dip into the other things they have to offer. This led me to quickly swatching their pressed powder, and buying one without actually giving it much thought. After all, what did I have to lose? What is MUA? You may or may not have heard of Make Up Academy (MUA) before. If it was not for my excessive shopping online a few months back, I would not have stumbled upon the range myself. However, I hadn't really bothered to try any of ... more

    Advantages Advantages It's Cheap

Disadvantages Disadvantages Does it's job but the colours aren't all that good!

I needed make up and I needed it cheap, poor students can't afford massive amounts on make up, and being on the front line of a ward I knew I needed some make up to make me look a bit more alive some mornings. However my usual pressed powder was £8 a shot, and if I'm honest I couldn't afford to keep up with it - so when I made my order to MUA I needed to put some of this in my basket, and when I saw how cheap it was I knew I was going to have to get a couple of them all at the same time. MUA Make up academy as it's also known as, is another range of bargain cosmetics that are turning up on our ... more

Review of MUA (Make up Academy) Pressed Powder MUA products are available at Superdrug, the range is aimed at the budget conscious end of the market. Although I am not a regular user of cosmetics, I recently discovered this range and have been enjoying experimenting with the products. The Product Make Up Academy pressed powder is presented in a sturdy, square transparent plastic box. The box is approximately 3 inches square, there is no mirror or applicator, this is definitely simple, basic packaging. The product name is on the lid in a silver font, the weight (5.7g) and ingredient list, for ... more

    Advantages Advantages It's a pound!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Small range of shades

After going on a major spending splurge last month I decided I needed to start saving. So, when my usual pressed powder ran out I thought I’d go on the hunt for a cheaper alternative. I have previously used products from the MUA range and even though they’re not the world’s greatest products I’ve never been disappointed. So I thought I’d try out their pressed powder. MUA stands for Make-Up Academy and the brand is exclusive to Superdrug. All their products are sold at just £1 and the range features products such as lip glosses, eye shadows nail varnishes, and lipsticks. For just one pound I ... more
