the tradesmans favourite tool -Makita BMR 100 1 of 4 Ciao Users found the following review helpful
Rating from easyDIYhelp 5 Stars ()

Advantages excellent sound and volume quality - very tough - Mp3 & Iphone port

Disadvantages arial is its weakest point it would appear.

I think this is the best and strongest portable workmans RADIO you can buy.

one of my best buys
  • strong and tough
  • runs of most Makita bateries
  • last for ages
  • charges most Makita bateries as well
  • great sound quality
  • high volume
  • digital display
  • auxilary port for Mp3 or Ipod

I have had my Makita BMR 100 for a while now and its never let me down
It gets thrown in my van, tied to the scafold and even been used as a hop up!

""I am beging to think its indistructable""

As well as a radio and Mp3/Ipod/Iphone player this radio unit willaslo charge up most Makita batteries, and charge then very quickly as well.
Mine is the older version, but I think the latest ones will charge all Makita bateries including all the new nickel cad batteries.
This feature is well worth the cost of the radio alone.

Certainly well made as you would expect from Makita Tools the sound quality is very good and from what I have seen and heard on site the sound volume and quality, in my opinion, is the best you can get.

The 'rubber' arial is a good feature and certainly prevents the old 'snapped arial and bit of coathanger' syndrome!

The clear digital display has come in very handy when retuning in when working in a dim lit area, with a nice blue back light... very soothing.
I think possibly the best feature for me is the Iphone port - a standard 3.5mm jackplug socket that will alow the use of Ipod, Iphone Mp3 players etc and the sound quality when attached to my Iphone is superb - definately its best feature.
The case itself is made of a very strong plastic but with the added feature of a hard rubber framework wrapped around it to give even more protection if dropped or bashed - a very good feature in my view.

My Verdict
a very worth while buy for any tradesman or DIYer alike - I give it five starts all round.
