Advantages: leightweight and that is it. ok at deburring Disadvantages: great as a deburring tool-crap at cutting
...SORRY I WAS RATHER DRUNK WHEN I DID THIS. PLEASE DONT READ IT, THE CONTENT IS POOR AS IS THE TOOL ITSELF. IF I COULD REMOVE THIS REVIEW I WOULD.
9.6v angle grinder
Comes with 1 battery and a charger.
its cordless.
Cant seem to cut anything.
However it does debur but thats it.
Why oh why this has the makita brand name (normally fantastic products) is totaly beyond me.
Do not not buy
Cant say any more but do not buy.
Still being made but not sure if you can actually buy them anywhere.
I do beleive that cordless angles grinders themselves are a complete waste of money as they simply do not have the power too cut.
Please dont buy it. If you want a cordless angle grinder that attempts to cut buy a 18v bosch or dewalt.
Can't beleive that Makita have let themselves down like this. Makita brand name normally signifies quality (i have a number...

Advantages: Light, Small, Durable, Cheap and Very Reliable Disadvantages: Lack of power for bigger jobs.
...I use this at work as my secondry drver mainly just to attach small joints and woodwork in general. Makita have always been a big name in the world of D.I.Y.ing tools and contimue to make tools that last and last and perform to fairly good standards.
These drivers are used as lightweight alternatives to the more expensive combination drills and if all you require is a cheapish drill for home usage or general small construction then this is the drill for you.
Unfortunately your not going to get any sort of real power out of the \'green\' makita range as its known as these are intentienly aimed at D.I.Y.ers, you do have enough to drill small planks and boards but you can forget about drilling anything harder as their simply is not enough torque or amp power to get you anywhere.
Bargain sets can be picked up for £100 or less including drill...

Advantages: managable power Disadvantages: takes a little more effort
...I wasn't sure how opinions actually work. The reason I say this is that I don't actually use the Makita 120, but I do use a similar model, so I'll tell you about that.
I've had a couple of Makita chainsaws and found them to excellent tools when used in the right place and enviroment. The petrol engines seem to be fairly smooth and the power delivery is quite even, which is quite unusual for any two stroke engine.
The Makita I use is not the lightest of tools, but it is of durable construction and has, I hate to admit been dropped on a few occasions, but I'm happy to say with no ill effect.
Where I think this particular chainsaw excells is when it comes to the finer end of the work I do. Saws like Stilh are brilliant for eating through anything, but in a bull in a china shop kind of way. The Makita is a little more subtle...

Pioneer have really let the side down with this model. It is not capable of converting TV sounds sources to Pro Logic surround sound!! The best you get is stereo from the front two speakers via a RF cable. It doesn't even have a digital optical cable!... more
