Malibu Caribbean White Rum with Coconut

The main type of alcohol that I drink is spirits and Malibu has always been at the very top of my favourites list. Malibu is a white rum drink that is made with natural coconut extract. It's made in the Caribbean and the entire drink, from the palm tree design on the bottle to the coconut taste of it, is very exotic, tropical and summery. I would say that from as long as I remember I have always considered Malibu to be a womans' drink. That was, until a few years ago. I now drink Malibu regularly on a night out. As I write this review I have to say that Malibu and coke and Disaronno and coke are my favourite drinks. Malibu comes in a variety of sizes to fit all pockets and I usually buy the 75cl bottle for little more than a tenner. I think the price is very reasonable compared to some spirits and it makes a fantastic and subtle mixer for coke. You hear "cocunut rum" and you're probably thinking "rumballs" however mix it with Pineapple juice, for the sweetest delicious tropical flavour! In New Zealand these sell for $54.95 so this is a Very good price! I personally can't stand rum, i think it tastes disgusting, but Malibu! = COMPLETELY different story, this is my FAVOURITE current drink; a beautiful cocktail! Gourmet to say the least! As i mentioned it is best with pineapple juice, but also can be mixed with Pina Colada, Banana milk, coke, mango juice, passionfruit juice any tropical juice, and it is very nice to have on the rocks ... more
