Advantages: Refreshing in hot weather, tasty and very drinkable! Disadvantages: Hangovers....The price
I discovered Malibu only a couple of years ago and it has since been my almost sole choice of drink! It has refreshing and original flavour that is very different to that of other alcoholic drinks. Whilst drinking a vodka and coke in a pub at lunchtime (or even better on a hot sunny beach in the Carribean) would give me a slightly sicky headachey feeling, Malibu never, ever does this to me, at least not until the next morning.
I'm ... ...of the Malibu adverts "imagine if us Carribeans took life as seriously as the rest of the world", and then follows a hilarious scenario with Carribeans arguing about one thing or another, for example a bus being late, or trying to pay with a melon by credit card. Malibu is described by these adverts as seriously easy going, what a perfect description!

I'm sure nearly all of us can remember at least one of the Malibu adverts "imagine if us Carribeans took life as seriously as the rest of the world", and then follows a hilarious scenario with Carribeans arguing about one thing or another, for example a bus being late, or trying to pay with a melon by credit card. Malibu is described by these adverts as seriously easy going, what a perfect description!
~*~The Taste~*~ For those of you who have never tasted Malibu rum before, I'll try and do it justice! It is made from Carribean white rum with coconut. It's really hard to describe the taste as anything else expect from 'coconutty' and 'perfect'! On your first sip of Malibu you will sense an exotic flavour much different to other alcoholic drinks avaliable. The taste is definetly something original and special. You definetly have to taste Malibu yourself to understand the full flavour, as there really is no way to describe it to do it justice!
~*~The Flavours~*~ There are currently three malibu flavours avaliable - standard Malibu, the flavour I'm reviewing which is rum and coconut. Then there's Pineapple malibu, and also Mango malibu, which are both pretty new flavours that I haven't yet had a chance to taste (but will surely be doing soon!)
~*~Mix With...~*~ Anything! My personal favourite is Malibu and coke. Malibu and lemonade is also quite nice, although I definetly prefer it with coke. My sister loves Malibu and orange juice, I've tried it but I must say I'm not overly keen on it with orange. Mixed with pineapple, this rum also makes a gorgeous drink.
A friend of mine recently revealed that she discovered on the interenet that you can mix Malibu with milk for a nice drink, so she tried it out and actually liked it! I must admit that I've never been brave enough to try it out - alcohol and milk should never be able to meet in my eyes, but for all of you out there who are a bit more adventurous, give it a go!
Of course you will also find it in a variety of different cocktails, such as the 'Nutty Summer Martini', which is a mix of Bitter, Amateretto, Malibu, Advocaat, Pineapple Juice and Double Cream. I've had a try at making this at home and (minus the double cream) loved it! Definetly worth a try, but have a look on the net for other cocktails you can make with Malibu, there's so many to suit all tastebuds!
~*~The Packaging~*~ The standard Malibu comes in a just off-white bottle, with a little clear wiggly line up one side, so you can see how much you've got left. This is a good idea as the Malibu bottle itself it very heavy and therefore you can sometimes think you've got more left than you actually have (sob, sob). The bottle is pretty basic - plain with 'Malibu' written in the center, with a picture of palm trees with a sunset. I like the packaging of the Malibu bottle - classy and not too over the top.
The packaging for the Pineapple Malibu version is the same, with the only difference is the background is yellow instead of white, and the mango Malibu is orange background.
~*~The Price~*~ 70cl of Malibu will usually set you back around £11.98, although at the moment in Asda it's just £9.98
1 litre of Malibu is usually from £14-£17 depending on where you buy it from, although I just checked online at Asda and 1litre is currently priced at £13.48, perhaps they are doing a special offer!
Also currently selling at Asda ionline s "Malibu White Rum and Pineapple" for just £5.00 for 17cl, on offer from £11.98! I haven't actually seen this in any of the Asda stores whilst shopping for the discounted price so it must be a new offer, but I'm definetly going to pick one up next time I go in for that price!
~*~The Disadvantages~*~ Malibu, unless on offer, is pretty expensive, and it is possible to pick up other versions of it (like supermarkets own rum and coconut) for half the price and for nearly all of the taste. That's the main disadvantage to this drink.
Malibu is also very easy to drink, and you can sometimes forget that it's alcoholic, leaving you a bit worse for wear - oops! So it's important to keep tabs on how much your drinking. That's about the only disadvantages though!
~*~The Website~*~ Yes, they actually have a whole website devoted to this drink, and rightly so! The wesbite allows you to look at a few of the Malibu television advertisements, which I personally love! There is also a variety of Malibu facts which tells you about its history and heritage (did you know that the Malibu distillery overlooks the white sands and beach of Black Rock in the West Indies?). There is a lovely little soundtrack going on for the website, repetitive and jangly, it suits the Malibu perfectly but gets annoying after a while - luckily you can turn it off!
The website also gives you ideas of mixers for your Malibu, yes Malibu and milk is on there! Have any of you tried it, actually? Maybe it's more common than I thought! There's also a crazy little man that you can make play music by pressing the a-z keys on your keyboard. Lovely!
Overall, I love Malibu - although the price is a bit steep I continue to buy it and it hasn't put me off in the slightest. I recommend you all drink some, now!
Advantages: Tastes nice Disadvantages: Could get you drunk
...favourite drinks is in fact Malibu rum, I find this very easy to drink, not to sweet, it blends well when mixed and smells gorgeous!!

Malibu has always had this effect on me, you know, being able to lose myself in its exotic flavours, pretending I'm a different person, in a different place. Admittedly sometimes that feeling has been induced by the sheer quantity of the stuff that I've consumed, but other times it's a lot more pleasurable and doesn't involve puking it all back up again later. Coming from the Caribbean it's hardly a surprise that Malibu ... ...What and Where

...depicted on each bottle of Malibu Rum and is a vision very much in line with the flavour and meaning of this drink. Malibu Rum is so unlike any other. It is a sweet, coconut flavoured Caribbean white rum that is either served neat, on the rocks or mixed with fruit juices or in a cocktail. Malibu is produced in Barbados, The Caribbean Islands since 1980. Over that period of time it has earned a reputation as a carefree and spontaneous drink, or so ... ...As mentioned earlier Malibu is a very versatile drink and can be served in various ways. It is a favourite weekend daytime drink of mine and my favourite method of having it is with Orange or Pineapple Juice and with lots of ice. Fresh orange or pineapple juice is just awesome but if you cant get your hands on any then concentrated or tetra pack ones will do, although it won’t taste as good. The unique attraction of this drink is its coconut ...

...starting off with the basics, Malibu is a clear coconut flavoured rum, so if for some reason or another you dislike either coconut or white rum, I wouldn't suggest that you try this product! I love malibu, it's up there with my favourite spirits (ok, it's joined by quite a few others...). It doesn't sound particularly versatile, having a flavour as strong as coconut in it, but I assure you it is. Malibu is great in loads of cocktails, and equally ... ...water and a dash of malibu - it made enough for 2 people and was delicious! Experimentation is the key to using it in creative stuff like smoothies!).
Malibu comes in a great looking bottle! (How shallow do I sound now?!) It's off-white, with a black lid and a palm trees and setting sun design on the front of it. It's kind of kitsch, which really appeals to me and looks great sitting in the drinks cabinet!

Advantages: Great refreshing, tasty, fruity summer cooler Disadvantages: Too much can get you a bit tipsy as it has a kick to it
.
I have found this unique rummy, sweet fruity taste of pineapples and lime together with rum as an extremely great refresher served over several ice cubes in a cocktail glass or blended and served with ginger beer a tremendously good summer cooler to chill out with after a days work or study.
It is slightly carbonated as it is tighly sealed when bottled and packaged to keep it very fresh.
HIGHBALL is 5% vol so each 150ml gall contains 1.0 units of alcohol so you could get a bit tipsy with it if you dink too much of this alcopop.
Each 770ml bottle contains 3.9 units of alcohol.
In comparison to other alcopops like Malibu white rum and pineapple I have to say the Marks ans Spencers version is much more tastier and refreshing by a very long way.

Advantages: Nice to try a more natural Cola Disadvantages: It's not the real Coca Cola we know.
's definitely best when it's very cold. Some of my friends recommend drinking it with Jack Daniels, or MalibuRum!
Some people have said this drink tastes quite cheap, like 'Tesco's own', so it's not for everyone.
I don't think it will be anywhere near as popular as Red Bull, and with Coca Cola as opposition, I don't think it will be the best Coke either.
I'll always be a Red Bull kinda girl, but give it a try. ...

Advantages: Good strong rum flavour, don't that leave that nasty cheap taste! Disadvantages: Can be expensive!
I haven't written a review on drink before but Lamb's Navy Rum is my favourite drink of all time.
I don't want to go into loads of fancy terms and names etc so I'll keep it simple!
This rum is what you expect when you ask for a rum at the bar.
It's great with any kind of mixer especially coke with a slice of lemon!
Because of its disadvantage of a higher price, it doesn't have many draw backs like many do with a horrible aftertaste and the need to brush your teeth!
.
I have been sampling different rum's for a while now and have tried the usual such as Morgan's, Morgan's Spiced Rum, Malibu, White Rum etc but this is the proper jobby, its a dark rum with a smooth flavour that does grab your throat when you take it neat like all real rum's should.
For those of you who haven't heard of Grog, its a mixture of water, sugar, lemon ...
