Advantages: looks lovely and is sturdy
Disadvantages: same as with all moses baskets- will prob only last for approx 3 months

We chose the Barnaby Bear design which was in cream, neutral colours. We bought it from an indepedent retailer rather than direct from Mamas and Papas as this saved us around £20 and only cost us approx £60. the stand cost us £20. I would suggest always searching for a bargain online or on ebay as its always cheaper than from the main retailer. It comes with a foam mattress that can be replaced for approx £10 if you need another. It has a shade type hood although i found it didnt tend to stay up very well. The sleeping area is 13 inches (33cm) wide and 25 inches (64cm) long. this is a little bigger than some toehrs and i would also say sturdier than some of the cheaper models. This lasted my chilren approx 3 months although this obviously varies largely on how big/long your baby is. ...

For the mamas and papas amongst you

Advantages: great quality
Disadvantages: expensive

Babies are expensive. We used to be under the naïve impression that babies are very small, so how much stuff could they need. After much aimless wandering around Mothercare and Mamas and Papas we realised the error of our ways, there seems to be no end to the stuff that babies need and this is before you get to the stuff that you want to buy that they could probably do without. We spent a horrendous amount in Mamas and Papas whilst Scarlett was still a bump! Mamas and Papas always seems to me to be like the ?designer? shop of the baby world. Whilst Mothercare is practical and quite down to earth. Mamas and Papas seems a bit more upmarket. Well as upmarket as baby stuff gets! mamas and papas sereno rocking cradle

Advantages: well padded and comfortable
Disadvantages: very expensive and broke within 10 weeks

After having had this cradle for ten weeks (and only having used it on a handful of occasions) the cradle has broken. This cradle boasts a three position recliner action. However the plastic which holds the back in such positions has snapped and as a result the chair is now completely unusable. For a product that costs £69.00 (the toy bar is a extra £14.00) you would expect better!!! Mamas and Papas after sales service was just as bad - all they offered was a replacement frame at a cost of £50.00. Also this chair is only suitable up to 6 months - there are many out there that last longer. I have found one for £65.00 which lasts until your child is two years old. ...
