Advantages: Lovely design. Comfy. Disadvantages: A faff to clean.
The 'Roundabout' nursery décor range at Mama's & Papa's is a funky, modern range, available in pink (with the main characters being 2 bunnies) for girls, & blue (with the main characters being 2 dogs) for boys. After finding out 'bump' was blue, I opted for the latter....!
Since I love contemporary, minimalist style the nursery had to be the same way, but whilst still looking like a baby's room. This range fitted the bill perfectly, although it took a few weeks of shopping around to reach the conclusion that the extortionate M&P prices were worth it....
The changing mat is one of the 'deluxe' range as M&P term it. They do sell standard changing mats at reasonable prices, but the deluxe range tends to co-ordinate with one of the many décor ranges & come with additional features.
The Roundabout Boys changing mat comprises ...
with teddies on 'zeddy and parsnip' to be precise!
The bumper is great and soft, it's padded really well and the cotton fabric on the outside is very soft to touch. It connects to the cot by tying onto the bars. This isn't too great as sometimes the knots/bows come undone and it sags down and it's also really fiddly.
It looks very nice though don't get me wrong! When baby Hope's cot is all made up with her bedding and bumpers it looks like it's come straight out of a magazine but it just isn't very practical.
Hope didn't go into her cot until she was 6 months old, she was a small baby so stayed in her moses basket that long. It is recommended that babies stay in their parents room until 6 months so most babies don't go in their cots until around this age anyway. When I put Hope in her cot my health visitor asked me if it has bumpers. Yes ...
Advantages: great quality Disadvantages: expensive
: moses basket, cot sheets, cot bumpers, cushions, curtains, pictures, sleeping bag, cot blankets, various soft toys, wall paper, laundry bag and nappy sacks. It is beautiful stuff, but to kit out a whole room and add furniture this would set you back several thousands. I do remember feeling quite down whilst pregnant and wandering around Mamas and Papas, because there was no way we could afford one of their perfect nurseries. I think it was probably the hormones!
So the downside is the general expense. Also some of the ranges, such as the beige and cream ones, don?t look very child friendly. For example once baby is on the move it won?t look quite as lovely once it is covered in spit and sticky hand prints!
They have a range of cots and nursery furniture, which include cots, cotbeds, changing units, dressers and wardrobes. The ranges are ...
